Phillips 4
Davis 1

Davis has his style and drew some iconic moments, but Phillips and Brubaker are killing combination.

So your vote don't count as it's only work for Tharg. Good good
If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

What's the difference? I take all artists' work as whole.

We ask for these tourneys that you only consider work for Tharg - and go into what that might or might not mean in the 'rules'. Don't stress it as its hard to do - mind for me I will steadfastly be ignoring Sean's work with Brubaker so I stick to my own rules!

Maybe I "misphrased" myself here, I love Sean's brief work on Judge Dredd and Megazine, on which he also drew amazing painted covers, but I had to mention his run on Criminal and the rest.

The rule committee nervously looks from side to side, a cold sweat just breaking out on his forehead... 7 tourney's and 1027 votes* and there's been no call on them. They were outside having a tab and then popped in to watch the footie and were expecting this... they look at the voting... feel a bit more relaxed and declare the vote carries in its present form...

... there'll be a sleeply night before counting but it shouldn't make a difference...

*Please note the Rules Committee hasn't checked any of the numbers and are pulling them out their arse

They've also made reference VAR and VAR confirms that Milstar wasn't looking at any Image Comics at the time the vote was cast and a copy of GGC was staples width closer to the voter at the time than the nearest copy of Fatale and so they confirm the on ... err... committee decision...

The Rule Committee have asked that I box this one off quickly so they can put it behin... I mean this one closes in the morning so get your votes in.

As for me I adore Sean Phillips work on SWIMMING FOR BLOOD... not Sleeper or Kill or be Killed which I'm not considering there and I can't ignore that. However Simon Davis... well. Funnily enough I love Sinister Dexter but its his work on other strips, even one's I'm not keen on like Slaine that really shine for me and Thistlebone feels like a strip built on his talents. So:

Simon Davis 4 : Sean Phillips 1

Always remember they best way to count votes is to count until your candidate has the most, math 101
When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

One of the things I love about Davis is when he paints a foreground face hyper detailed then draws the face in the background like a simple emoticon. It cracks me up the disparity between the two techniques. Ampney Crucis did this loads with butler Eddie.
If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

Davis 3 - Philips 2

Good point about Devlin above though. Great work there.

VOTING CLOSED

Well controversial rulings aside this one has been quite straightforward. Sean Phillips was just getting going when he was a presense in the Prog. Even so he prooduced some stunning work. Simon Davis however has grown and blossomed in front of us, though to be fair he started pretty damned good and he stormed this one.

Overall it ties things up and in doing so confirms that we will be going into the final week with this as an open competition. Bloomin' heck this is getting exciting and is MUCH closer than I ever imagined it would be!
