In Strontium Dog's 'Big Bust of 49', there's a bit where lead Bad Boy Darkus yells 'Darkus is willin'!" which is a reference, of all things, to "Barkiss is willin'", a catchpahrase of sorts from Dickens' David Copperfield. A reference I only got as I happened to be reading that book for GCSE English at the time I read the SD strip.
