Ooh... I'm a big fan of Scarlet Traces but having just re-read Cradlegrave in the Hachette collection, the atmosphere and creeping dread make for one of the best horror stories Tooth has ever done. Sorry Ian and Matt, for me it has to be Cradlegrave.

Love the spelling in the title, makes me wonder whether Colin has been listening to Neil Diamond while compiling all this  :)

I seem to remember Venus had a pretty good solo debut in the hands of Morrison and Simpson in a sci-fi special way back, so Venus Bluegenes.

Brit-Cit Babes is a long way from being Wagner's best, but Milligan is still coming up with intriguing themes for Tooth.

Counterfeit Girl.

Tharg's Alien Invasions were fun but Smith and Phillips came up with a great little piece of weirdness that still sticks in my mind today.

Danzig's Inferno.

I haven't read Chiaroscuro but even if I had suspect I would still be voting the same way. John Smith and Paul Marshall had collaborated several times by this point, and they complement each other brilliantly.

Leatherjack.

Nemesis and Deadlock both had finer hours than in their joint series, although Carl Critchlow's art was great. Low Life gave us numerous ongoing characters and threads for Dredd, and Frank is a brilliant creation.

Loving all this. Outstanding work by Colin and Alex. Roll on round 2.

I haven't read Go Machine so Mercy Heights.

I think Middenface works better as a sidekick/foil to Johnny than as a main character, plus Blunt has some fantastic art from Boo Cook.
