Classic will be the winner of this round.  I've always thought Boo might be a good candidate to take the reigns of Strontium Dog. His creatures and mutants look great and he gets Alpha's look right.

Congrats Pete! Heres to the next Million!

D'Israeli 1; Ian Gibson 4

Both are great cartoonist style artists, but Gibson has drawn more of what I like (classic Dredd, Halo Jones, even a Stront story).

6
Greg Staples 3 : Leigh Gallagher 2

I love Gallagher's work on Kingmaker, but have to give it to Staple.

Darkie's Mob is awesome. I read a lot of war comics and this series is one of my favorites.

Here is a link to a recent MCBC podcast: https://megacitybookclub.blogspot.com/2021/04/154-darkies-mob.html

Haha awesome Funt, thank you sir! Gave me a good laugh, I especially like the shoulder pad detailing

However, that does look like Dredd! Mystery solved.

A picture says a thousand words! Drokk that's nice.

One thing this contest succeed in was increasing my appreciation of City of the Damned. After rereading it, along side of Judge Child, I have to say its definitely in my top 10 epics.

A deserving top two, I'm happy with this outcome. Thanks again Colin, these contests have been FUN and have prompted some great Case File rereading!

Glad to hear there are more on the way, I'll second a Stront tournament (since Christmas I've almost completed rereading ALL of Strontium Dog, it's fresh in mind and I'm ready to vote...)

Nice summary Colin, this collection definitely deserves a thread. When El Mestizo arrived I was pleasantly surprised  it was a nice hardback, but a little short - I wish it had gone on much longer. But like you say, there is a lot of action/story packed into these pages. Ezquerra's art is onpoint, I really enjoyed seeing his take on a Western (although Strontium Dog is a Western itself). This just moved to the top of my re-read list.

How about a continuation with John Mccrea on art duties?

These are my top two favorites, and both from the Best Artist winner Carlos Ezquerra. One in B&W (originally) the other in colour, yet both have Carlos at the top of his game. Both are fantastic, but I have to go with Apocalypse War. The epic to beat all epics, and I think only the Sovs will disagree.

Apocalypse War
