... that's a lot of scripts to go into without a plan.

You have been paying attention to the competence of the present government, haven't you?   :o

In all honesty putting anything up against Portrait of a Mutant was going to be a challenge.  Just like with Dredd and the Apocalypse War.  Portrait is probably one of the strongest Stront stories going, not to mention being at the height of Ezquerra's Tooth work [consider his epic run on Dredd, Stront work and Stanilus [sic] Steel Rat work.

Harrison's artwork on Final Solution is so stylistically different it is hard to compare.  Macneil's coda does help a bit in terms of comparison but they are worlds apart.  That is not to decry Harrison's work.  Arguably there is some interesting stuff there.

Overall though, arguing that there is just too much in FS is, I think, a valid point.  There are so many nods to earlier stories it is hard to keep up even for a seasoned reader.  I think Dark Jimbo makes a good point in terms of pacing.  Perhaps it is these issues, a bit like a homage to everything that has gone before but in such a way that it doesn't quite hang together properly.

I guess this is kind of a long winded way of stating the obvious:  Portrait of a Mutant.

Skip Tracer: Disappointing fridging leaves underdeveloped lead holding baby

TBH that is an incredibly accurate summation.  I find myself slowly joining the throng of people who have little time for Skip Tracer.  In fact it may be that the title itself becomes dangerously accurate ...

Much as it galls, Jade, saying nothing was the best course.  Worth remember the old adage: "never argue with an idiot.  They bring you down to their level then beat you by using their superior experience."

As for the AM's comment, well unless you were paid to carry the bag across the car park then yes you were a volunteer.  The idiocy of the remark doesn't bear thinking about.

Oxfam seem to be doing a good job at the moment of putting the backs up people across the country.  As we've said before, you aren't the first person to complain about this.

... and as for the MH nurse, sheesh!  I hate that one ... "been there, done that, got the t-shirt ..."  It's up there with the line of questioning that sounds sincere but makes you feel like you're apparently making everything up or it's all in your head (okay, yes, I know!).

BTW ... if you do figure out how to get a proper sleep pattern going can you let us in on your secret?  You know, before you market it and make your fortune so you can buy your own bookshop and 'volunteer' in it?

As promised/threatened some time ago, I'm soon going to embark on a re-read of the Mega Collection and post comments on here. I've grouped the volumes thematically as per the intention, adding the extension volumes as appropriate. My groupings are:

... and I'm going to go with a shameless plug since these groupings mirror pretty much those that I've organised my ebay sales on.  So if you want to "Read along with Snazz" so to speak, head on over to the classifieds for the link.   ;)

What I want to know is this, where does the flexible work option leave industry workers who can't comply with that option? Hospitality workers, retail staff, transport crew. What perk can we expect to receive for the added risk and continued daily grind while other industries offer some form of safety net, both financially and from the virus?

Well, a world-beating salary and sick pay .... exactly the sort of thing that employers in those sectors generally think are unreasonable ...

looks glorious but I think they might have given away a bit too much of the plot?

Aye, there's much to Judgement Day's credit.  Mind you it is Ennis on full throttle OTT overdrive.  Not to mention during tooth's nadir.

Nope, gotta be Rage.  Stronger story, more consistent artwork, ...

Hmmm, right from the get-go this is a challenge.

Outlaw is one of those 'second generation' tales where the creators were really into their stride.  Classic characters, amazing artwork (even by Ezquerra's high standards), that twist ...

Journey Into Hell by contrast is one of those early tales full of great ideas that doesn't quite hang together completely at times but you have Ezquerra's rendition of Dante's Inferno.  Of all Tooth artwork, pieces from this strip would be on my Grail List.

This is what this cup is going to be like pretty much throughout.  The difference in quality between the two ... I'm going to come down to nostalgia for the decider and plug for Journey Into Hell.
