Games / Miniatures for tabletop gaming
09 June, 2020, 06:43:01 PM
A facebook group for buying, selling and trading minis.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/548659306023624/

I recall a few folk saying they'd buy more minis if they were painted... maybe you'll find them there?

Basically just pointing out a page for buying selling and trading Dredd/2000ad miniatures for tabletop stuff.  If it's in the wrong bit, I do apologise, and would appreciate a transplant to the appropriate section, cheers!

Classifieds / Hunting for Dark World Creations figures
14 October, 2019, 01:45:50 PM
It's a long shot I know, but as I managed to pick up Dredd on Lawmaster from an ad on here that was 3 years old, I'll give it a go!

Looking for the Death 1:10 bust, Anderson 1:10 bust, Jusge Fire 70mm, and Hammerstien figure.  Ideally would be in box and unpainted, but would consider any condition if anyone has spares, or just wants to shift them on.  Drop me a PM if you've anything to offer!

Cover: Excellent work from Mr Brown as always!

Dredd:  Nice to see McCarthy back on Dredd, and an enjoyable twist on 'Strangers on a Train' from Wagner!

Ace Trucking co. : Used to love this series when I wor a lad, so was pleasantly surprised to see it in there.  Enjoyable, if a bit short on substance.

Sinister Dexter:  Great art from Foster, very cinematic, and an amusing enough tale from our favorite gun sharks.

Poster:  Absolutely jaw dropping-ly gorgeous art from Chris Weston.

Robo Hunter:  Loved RH back in the day, but when he retired in the late 80's, they should have left him retired.  They never seem to have got it right since.  Not an awful tale by any description, but not great.

Rogue Trooper:  Again, like all the other strips in the special, very much an enjoyable spread of art.  Hoping that this may be some kind of flashback sequence to the RT of old that we get a bit more of, as that'd be very nice!

Overall, a great special!

Prog / Prog 1969: Klegg Nicked?
20 February, 2016, 01:33:30 PM
Cover:  Lovely as always by Mr Ronald.

Droid Life: I wonder what their real job is?  Surely they can't be getting paid for this??

Dredd:  After Sexton's glorious art in the last few weeks, D'Israeli's stuff is just that much harder to  take.  Never been a fan of his style (I know others are, and that's fine, horses for courses and all that) and on Dredd, it's even less welcome than usual for me.  Not sure I'm digging the scripting either....Dredd either being funny, or contemplating suicide....erm...no.  And the 'I want to hurt you' muttered under the breath?  No.  He'd either say it, or say nothing, otherwise it's a involuntary loss of control, which we know Dredd isn't really prone to.  I guess there'll be a couple weeks of this....but I do hope it's a short run.

Kingdom: Continues to look great, and roll along in it's previous style....but wait......are those masters thinking about a weapon that'd wipe out them....AND the aux on earth?  Oooh ya bastards ye!

ABC: Still finding the art worthwhile, but the story is more muddy now than ever, chucking in shit I'd have to go dig out old progs to fully get.  It's not worth the effort, so I'll just go with the art on this one.

The Order:   Bonkers.

Strontium Dog:  It's very much like a tale of old.  Lately there's not too many tales that stretch beyong 4-6 weeks, so it's nice to see a tale take it's time, and indulge in a longer run.  Art and tale still doing the business for me. ;)

Megazine / Meg 369: He has awoken
13 February, 2016, 03:19:18 PM
Cover: Meh...take it or leave it...nowt wroing, but nowt special...however...it does hida rather a good interior. ;)

Dredd: Still a wee bit muddy on the visuals, but not so much that it detracts.  Tale itself ain't doing much for me the now.

Sensetive Klegg insert: Lol, odd.....was just sat with Alex the other night looking at how he did this one!  Had no idea how his process works....thought I did, but was VERY wrong!  Man's a genius.

Interview 1 and 2.....yep, skipped 'em.

Realm of The Damned:  Consider my attention grabbed.

Interview 3:  oooh, Al Ewing?  Might be inter....nah.....skipped.

Demarco: Think I must have forgot something from previous weeks....otherwise this tale just took a sharp left I was not expecting.  Not sure how I should rate that yet.

Dredd Dust:  Wilsher's art is just great.  Tale is rolling along, nowt over mental this week....ambling along....fair one....will amble alongside. ;)

Megazine / Meg 368: Pacific Grim
16 January, 2016, 02:16:19 PM
Cover:  Nice, if a wee bit 'soft focus'?

Dredd:  Percival is back, and on form as always.  Like the cover, couyple of panels are a bit 'soft' or 'murky', but hey, that's his style eh?  Was a bit confused though....they find the ship, and climb on at a lower level....then at the end, it looks like the upper deck is at sea level?  Are they sinking??

Interrogation 1:  Skimmed.

Cry Havoc: Extended advert for a different comic....skipped.

Demon Nic:  Entirely over this one now.  Will not be fussed if it doesn't show up again.

Interrogation 2: Skipped.

DeMarco:  Decent.  Think at this pace, it may be a tale best re-read in one hit.  We'll see.

Dredd 2:
Lovely art, likely my favorite in the meg this month.  Tale is moving along nicely, and I love that the madness of the classic Dredd is being combined so nicely with the stark realism of the 2012 film.  A great mix.

Floppy:  Ignored.

Really starting to lose faith in the meg overall. :(

Prog / Prog 1960 The Good, The Bad, The Psychotic!
05 December, 2015, 11:05:50 AM
Cover:  Colourful and eye catching.

Dredd:  Finishes up as expected, another superb display from Goddard, well penned by the Daddy.

Bad Company: Turning into a bit of a pantomime.

Dredd Advert: Proper got me excited.....mine is on order as well as the bike, can't wait!

Terror Tales:  Felt like an opening episode rather than a one off, quite enjoyable.

Defoe: Strong episode to finish, but after dragging it's ass in previous episodes I dunno if it's quite enough.  But overall, I've enjoyed Defoe's tales, with this outing being the only on e I've had issue with, and the issue is a small one for sure.

Good prog overall, now, time to relive Judgement day in the mega collection!

Prog / Prog 1942: Fost-----Nixon
01 August, 2015, 12:44:37 PM
Cover:  Nice, but odd.  Doesn't really look like the style of either artists involved!

Dredd:  Continues to be great, but I get the feeling that it's gonna be over soon.

Absalom:  Did not end as expected.....but no complaints really.  Just expected a bit more.

Helium:  No surprises, continues along familiar lines.

Outlier:  Only the art is keeping this one afloat now.

Jaegir: After the last couple weeks, some welcome action.  Loving Coleby's work on this.

Prog / Prog 1932: The Fine Art Of Thrill-Creation
23 May, 2015, 01:48:31 PM
Cover: Lovely work from Alex Ronald as always.

Dredd:  Has been a fine tale, and now seems to be pulling up to the final stop.

Slaine: More nice art and plodding tale.  Although it did make me smile a little after Skinhead finally woke up, and they all fight, crying 'for the goddess', and 'for the gods'.  Yep, all fighting for different styles of shackles. ;)

Future Shocks:  Nowt new in terms of the story, but enjoyable none the less.

£rillers: Still enjoying this one, even if it does seem to have driven off the cliff of creditability! Sometimes, I guess we need bonkers in the prog.

Stronty:  Continues to be ace.

Help! / Fruit Gums anyone?
22 November, 2014, 03:45:02 PM
Thought this would be best in the 'help' rather than 'classified' sections, hope that's ok mods?

For anyone after the fruit gums posters from progs 272, 276, and 281, this e-bay seller

http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/hannah11zoe?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Has some!  I just got the full set to pretty much complete my collection, not sure exactly which ones they have left, but they have them!  They aren't listed with 2000ad's, rather they are with the Eagles that were issued at the same time, but the poster is what's important after all!  They have been extremely helpful, with great communication and service.  Look them up! ;)

Prog / 1875 Blood Work
29 March, 2014, 02:45:54 PM
Dredd: Usual fare, nice art, bit of humour, bit of totalitarian fascism, but nowt new really.

Outlier: Seems to be a run of the mill revenge story so far...even if the guy getting his revenge has been 'enhanced', it's still nowt new.  Nice art though.

Slaine: Duuuuuull.  So again, nothing new.

Sinister Dexter:
Still not convinced by the art, but story doing it's usual, and heading towards lots of violence.

Jaegir: Highlight of the prog for mr this week, like the art, like where the story is going, even if it seems a bit predictable.

Overall, a 'meh' prog on most levels.  Most exciting thing was the ad for Sniper Elite 3 on the back cover! ;)

Classifieds / Full wearable stormtrooper armour
16 February, 2014, 08:18:13 PM
Make: Erm....the Empire?
Gun/Model: Stormtrooper Full suit
Accessories: Resin Blaster, Boots (size US 8.5, UK, 7.5)
Condition: Good
Splits/Swaps/Part Exchange: no
Price/Payment: £600 & Postage
Pictures: Below

Full suit of trooper armour, ready to wear, although may need some adjustment if you ain't the same size and shape as me. Black undersuit and neck collar included. Off E-bay, the suit kit would set you back about £600, without gun, boots, or helmet. So add another 50-100 for the blaster, 40 for the boots, a tenner or so for a neck thingy, and 70-100 for the lid.

The helmet for this had some internal mods I never did finish, so all the bits are there for the fans to create an airflow to stop you steaming up, and the amp and mic to do the more mechanical voice bit.

The belt was a solid plastic thing, and unbelievably uncomfortable, so I made a softer fabric one with some white leatherette and Velcro.

Postage is likely to be about 30-40 I'd expect, as it may not be too heavy, but it'd need a fairly large box to send it in.

Crisis: 1-43, 45, 50-52, 58, and a second copy of No. 15, all in great condition, all a pound each.

Starlord: 1-22, all in excellent condition, 2 pound each.

2000ad Progs: 232, 265, 433, all excellent condition, a pound each.

Judge Dredd Megazine: No. 237, a pound.

None of these have free gifts, they are only on sale due to either buying a full set to fill any gaps I had, or because they have been replaced with ones with the gifts.  Mutiple purchases obviously get a discount, postage will be calculated on request.

Classifieds / Prog 3
10 May, 2013, 07:37:24 PM
Item Name: 2000ad Prog 3
Location: Glasgow, UK.
Price: £40 & Postage.
Description:
Recently got prog 3 with the red alert wallet, so now have a spare (without wallet of course!).  Bit yellow as you'd expect for the age, two distinct marks on right hand edge of front cover that I suspect may be spilled cola from back in the day, and there is a fairly faint, but noticeable moisture mark in the top right corner which I've circled in pic 3.  On the page where it details how to use the red alert wallet, some scribblings in pen from the original owner solving the puzzle shown in pic 4.  Other than that it's in great condition, no fraying, no rips, no creases.

Would be sent with hard backing and bubble wrap to avoid any damage.  Here's some pics of the prog in question.....

Classifieds / 2000ad Novels
08 May, 2013, 07:47:16 PM
All in good condition, prices based around what they seem to be going for on ebay just now.

Judge Dredd:
Stallone Movie novelisation        £1 & Postage
         Swine Fever                              £2 & Postage
Kingdom Of The Blind                £4 & Postage

Durham Red:
The Unquiet Grave                    £3 & Postage

Strontium Dog:
          Bad Timing                               £ 15 & Postage
          Prophet Margin                         £ 3 & Postage
          Ruthless                                   £ 2 & Postage

I assume the variations are due to availability or something.  I've had to shell out a good few quid myself chasing down the ones I needed!  These where part of a bundle, which had only 1 book I needed, but I hadn't seen it anywhere else, so took the plunge and bought the lot.
