I dunno, on the basis of the images posted here I'm starting to think a lot of Carlos' work would be best off left as B&W

I'd have to agree. His colours have improved immeasurably since early experiments like "Wilderlands", but his B&W work just has so much more punch.

I'd be interested to see what someone like Chris Blythe could do with Carlos' art - though I doubt it will happen.

The Amstor Computer

...that should have read "computer colours".

Heya Bou, He's inked B&W, then gone over with coloured inks. The text is on acetate. stops me dribbling on it...

i think you may need to hire body guards & a dribble proof table cover for dredd-con... in fact, some-one warn oxfords banks, ah i can smell the singeing credit cards of fanboys already.

smug that i shan't be there to be tempted ha ha ha ( sob ) Bou. ;P

Lovely work. I loved his colour work on stuff like Inferno (even if the story was shit!) and it must be a treat seeing it up close.

Am I correct in thinking he did a lot of his colour work with markers? ISTR an interview where he said this was the case...

+rufus+

Carlos's early Colour Annual work was done with Pantone Markers. He then moved to Colour Inks to get more painterly effects in the later Eighties.

Lord Running Clam

How much does a page of Carlos black and white art tend to go for?

+rufus+

Varies.
I brought back a selection of Art from the Kingdom of Carlos, but most of it is Splashes and the Nicer pages!
I do have more recent art, which is cheaper than the vintage pieces, which are understandably more sought after.
Email me, and I'll send you the first list.
