You should try Natural Source Mint, seriously thought I'd done myself permanent damage of the bell end. Most invigorating, but a bit much first thing in the morning. Switched back to the Lime.

Wondering the same thing. Does this new thread mean that the old one is definitely gone for good then? Bit of a shame if it is.

I'm afraid that was me. I went to delete some spam and instead of just deleting the post I removed the topic (because usually the spammer starts their own thread so you just delete the thread) a momentary lapse and boom. :-[
I did ask if there was a way to fix it (perhaps from a database backup) but haven't heard back so I assume the answer is no (even if there is one it is a pain to extract all the relevant information from the various tables and then reinsert it back in without making a bigger mess). I have been checking to see if there is a cached version but so far have only been able to find the last page (http://66.102.9.132/search?q=cache:AsCtNVwjuF4J:www.2000adonline.com/forum/index.php%3Ftopic%3D24358.2295+site:2000adonline.com+drokking+fantastic&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk) (and Google has caches of the last page (http://66.102.9.132/search?hl=en&q=site:2000adonline.com+drokking+fantastic&start=10&sa=N) for most of this year as the thread grows). However, I'm still working on it...
The irony is life wasn't that drokking fantastic moments after I realised the thread has disappeared :(

Happy birthday to both of you - one of you entering full adulthood, the other slowly slipping towards middle age and inevitible death.
There may be a profound observation to be made on that, but I don't know what it is.
I decided to start going backwards when I hit 40, so I'm currently 37 and looking forward to my 36th. It just gets harder to pull off each year!

Ebay is perverse sometimes.
I had to part with an item on Ebay that was worth 50 to 80 quid for 8 quid and it was painful letting it go but i didnt want to risk getting negative feedback.A very similar item sold for this much and got lots of bids as well just a few days before my auction.
Another item i had to let go for 99p when it was worth a lot more than that.
My nine month old daughter took her first steps yesterday, four of them, when trying to get to the TV remote (her most coveted item).excellent! mine did her first crawl to the dr who theme on my mobile and i saw it before the m.i.l!!! a while ago but it was good!

At Last,
those scum who live next door have finally pushed me over the edge (I like confrontation and this is why this is on this thread).
I was up at 08:00 today because the bloke from Virgin was coming round to plug in our V+ box (it's lovely), anyway those shits next door had their music (Fucking god knows what it was) up so loud that we couldn't hear the TV, even at a decent level. I could hear the noise from every room in our house and so I said to Carolyn I'm going round. She said be calm, to which I replied, I shall try.
I rang the doorbell and the music stopped instantly. The door opened a crack, after loads of locks had been unlocked and the female (unemployed kid maker) thing barely popped her head round the gap. I noticed layabout number two hiding just behind her. The converstaion went as follows :-
Excuse me could you turn the music down a little, I work nights and my wife can't even hear the TV in the front room.
I'm not being funny but it is daytime.
Yes I know that but we can't even hear the TV due to your music.
My baby can sleep through it.
That's okay for her but the music is way too loud, you turned it off when you heard the doorbell, which proves that.
........................
Okay then, I'll just get in touch with your landlady and explain to her the situation before I go to the council. Be seeing ya!
And with that I turned around and left the scumfuckers. Amazingly the music is off now but I shall be contacting the landlady after the weekend.
I fucking HATE those wasters next door, what twats would just say it's daytime and not even say sorry mate didn't realise or something similar ::)
At Last,

Cheers Fishy (and everyone else who sent good wishes!) it was great fun, I got the kids to feel clod baked beans for the guy who holds the bath of beans record, taste M&Ms to signify the guy who's ate the most M&Ms in a minute, spayed 'em with water for the furthest spit, had a tremendously loud burp on a 'BigMack' sound switch which they all got to press and loads more. It was chaotic but wonderfully uplifting!

The genesis of what?? Either they've seen you with a coin in your mouth or they haven't.
I have a new thing that I do.
I fumble around with change, and "hold" coins that I have already deemed to be constituent between my teeth so that I hand the shopkeeper something that has been in my mouth. Said cashier may or may not be aware of the genesis of their new found subsistence tool.
I stumbled upon this new diversion quite by accident. After the monastic preamble, the epicurean beckons!

The wife and I slept for ten and a half hours last night thanks to the kids having a sleepover at Grandma's. It's probably the first full nights sleep we've had in over four years. It's so great not feeling tired and grumpy for a change.Nights like that me and the missus don't get much sleep. Sleepovers are great.
I'm fairly sure The Dude was on my bus home.
.. because due to a series of events I've been put in a position where I'm forced to pull my finger out and actually draw- and right now I feel very much like I've found my mojo again........secret project? :P Good to hear. Look forward to seeing the results.
I worked for firm A for a few years. Firm A sold the busines, including staff contracts but not the land/buildings to firm B.
I worked for firm B for a few years. Firm B decided that they were closing the branch and making the entire staff redundant. This situation has lasted about a year.
Firm A have decided that they are ready to move back into the area. They still own the old site, tailor made for the job and just needing a bit of stock. Up go the banners, they'll be open before christmas, they need a full complement of staff.
I don't want to get my hopes up here but I know a lot of the management types at firm A, have good relations with them, know the job/site/customers like the back of my hand and the job is right on my doorstep. If all goes well I could be back in a job I love and am good at by years end, like I never left.
Posting in this thread may be a bit premature but fuck it, I'm excited.
a lovely cup of tea and a vegetarian bacon butty
I must admit it took a lot of iron discipline to stop myself running into the house and getting some flags out and waving at them from the path.

Just got confirmation of the next shoot for Judge Minty and am looking forward to a lot of fun in Wales :D
I got the go ahead from my boss to take all of next January off and booked my flights to Japan, heading out on the 27th of December for a whole month. Of course, now that there are 6 of us (6!!!!) the air fare is costing a small fortune - Which I can't really afford - but to hell with it. I need to get out of this shitty country for a while and go to my "spiritual" home!!!! Christmas in Ireland, New Years in Japan!! Bring it on baby!!!! (I'll be posting in the 'life sucks' thread when I get back about how crippled with debt I am as a result of this haha!()
Yaehhaa! i just hit Bionic Fingers level (check bottom right) how can one person type sooooo much drivel?

My cousin is having an operation today to get three metal plates bolted to his face. No word on the mood-control dial in the forehead, but here's hoping.
Last weekend I secured the Artist for Zarjaz 11- the ABC Warriors issue. VERY Happy.
Most of the "news" sources I can find about this seem to be from highly partisan blogs that all seem to carry "no ground zero mosque" (sic) banners, and quote one of JC's opponents, Ann McElhinney, at length. Even the sources from mainstream news outlets appear to be entirely based on that one statement by McElhinney.
I'll reserve judgement until the full story, with sources, comes out. If it ever does.
I've not found any reference so far in the articles to the Chatham House rules, but since these relate to preserving the anonymity of a speaker at a meeting, I don't really see how they are relevant here when thge protagonists are well known.
you may think that, i couldn't possible comment
Indeed. "Climate change" is always hyped as a bad thing, for some baffling reason. Life on Earth relies on a changing, dynamic climate. If you want an unchanging climate, go and live on Mars or Venus.

Of course, that must be the reason it hasn't appeared on any real news sites (and I use the word 'real' deliberately). It couldn't because the story is shit.
No, no, its okay, i really dont need any help.
im contemplating rushing off to buy a big bunch of grapes and asking him to get some reclining shots of me on the chaise, covering my modesty. Then getting the pic blown up and framed so its the first thing people see when they enter my house.

I've been offered an interesting looking job in the education sector, an area i'm really interested in. As an analyst within info systems.
I have a pretty good job already though doing similar in social housing so am unsure what to do.
I am aware how lucky I am to have he choice, hence this thread.
Sad to say, loyalty, experience and length if service count for very little in the employment market, so I'd say go for it. There's always a temptation to stay in a job if you don't know if you'll enjoy the next one as much a what you're doing, but it may turn out to be even better. And when it does come time to move on, your CV looks better with an extra position on it.

Congratulations to you and the lady! Remember, newborns' poorly developed eyesight means they react best to harshly contrasted black and white images, so instead of painting the nursery a pastel blue or yellow with pictures of elephants, paper the walls in photocopies of old episodes of Zenith, Brigand Doom and Silo. Little one will find them infinitely fascinating and you'll have the pleasure of knowing you're starting him down the right path.

The works has a load of Marvel cartoons on dvd at the minute. 2 for £5. I got the tail end of Season 3 of the X-men there myself just the other day. (I already had everything up to tht point.
They also had a load of Fantastic Four and Spiderman stuff. The Spiderman stuff is from the 70's though, rather than the one they made alongside the x-men in the 90's. You know, the one with that song.
Had I had more money I would have had one of everything.

We've gone to a serious amount of hassle sending The Boy to a multi-denominational school halfway across the city (where the first year's curriculum allegedly includes Buddhism and Humanism, FSM defend us) that promised to teach the variety of all its constituent cultures and beliefs (and none), and to my partial amazement that's what they seem to be doing - on the final day of Hanukkah his Jewish classmate brought in appropriate toys and food, and they learnt all about it together. In my day the Jewish and Muslim kids just stood outside the assembly hall while 'we' had prayers and hymns. Well chuffed I am.
Second, and on foot of the first, we had a chat about God and gods on the way home. I outlined the type of god that Jews, Muslims and Christians all envision (as I understand it), and the more exciting Greek, Roman and Norse versions that's he's more interested in. The Boy opined that he figured the most likely thing was that this "God" was a Grandmother, which seemed both logical and satisfyingly celtic. Then we chatted about the creation story that the Abrahamic religions share, Adam and Eve and the waters over the earth etc., and I asked him where he thought the first people came from. After a thoughtful pause he said: "Africa".
My boy.
but you've stretched it to fill the 16:9 screen.

I have solved my paint problem as it looks like the manufacturer [Sandtex/Crown] has included the color i need into their color range as there are two colors in their range that are an exact match and i can buy them in an exterior gloss so i end up with an identical product.
I going to chat to the historian guy at the museum about this later as he will be interested and so that the solution can be forwarded to the residents association in case anyone else is having the same problem and whatever else is relevant.

An American Art Director just casually asked me during a review: Why do I always put such big feet on my characters?
When I answered it's just a throwback to some of my childhood influences he grinned and said "Ah, Judge Dredd"
The fact a guy like him knew what I was talking about made my day.

Oh yes, UP THE IRONS! I saw Maiden at Earls Court in December 2006 during their 'A Matter of Life and Death' tour and it rocked. 1 row back from the front and middle left, seeing Eddie popping up in the Tank onstage was superb. Like you i've been a maiden fan since I was 12 but had never got round to seeing them until then.
If you haven't heard/bought their latest album 'The Final Frontier' I recommend you do, it is the nuts. The album has tracks that sound similar to their early albums, great stuff, here's to the next tour! :D
Still sang on the two best Maiden albums.Totally agree.

Did you see Paul Di'Anno has just been sent down for £45,000 benefit fraud? I don't know how his genius scheme could possibly fail - He said that he was unable to work after injuring himself falling off a stage, and claimed income support, housing benefit and council tax. He then spent the next few years playing hundreds of live shows all over the world until someone from the DSS saw one of his 50 videos on YouTube.
The prosecutor said: "He admitted in an interview in 2005 that he was living in Brazil and playing to crowds of 10,000 people."
The defence said: "He has fallen into a pit of mayhem."
The judge said: "nine months."

Have you given much thought as to what her first Prog should be?
Just don't let Cyberleader2000 and his newfound "abilities" anywhere near her.
Seriously though, good news, Old Man Logan!
Congrats Logan. Was that a complete surprise to you then?
Thanks guys! At about 2330 I should have an idea of when she'll be home, though right now we think Monday!
The important thing is she's out of harm's way.

It was a terrible likeness ...
My girlfriend dressed as Halo Jones at an event at the weekend.
It was a terrible likeness but the sentiment was overwhelmingly sweet
before she left her Facebook status was
"Where am I going? Out."
:D
After indulging in some minor flirting with a woman who gets the bus from the same stop as me I asked her out to lunch and she said yes. Cyberleader take note: strike while the iron is hot, don't come on here talking about it.
Just in case, I think you need to nobble any nearby workmates and distribute a photo of the lady in question to a bunch of total strangers on the internet...
but was actually confirming I was still coming.
Sadly she brought along a colleague of hers to the cafe so wasn't just us but still went well.
Because this weekend was brilliant, played a really enjoyable gig on Friday, went to see Richard Herring's brilliant Christ On A Bike show Saturday (complete with christian protesters at the venue!) and had a super-chilled Sunday with the prog and the meg. That's what I call a successful weekend :)
Those are fantastic! Although there is something faintly worrying about an obsessive collector who has started to make his own merchandise...

I have just bought tickets to see the Mission and the Neffs FLASHBACK TIME!!!!!
Who's in the Nephilim now apart from McCoy?
I saw the Astoria gig in 2007 and it just wasn't the same for me without the other original members.
The Mourning Sun album was really good but I'm not so keen on seeing them live now. If the classic line up was back together I'd be very excited and wouldn't miss it.
They've worked very hard on the live performances since 2007 -- they're definitely worth seeing
And yeah I presume Carl McCoy is the only Nephster left. He's pretty hard to work with. The recent live videos on You Tube seem okay though.
The Mish aren't playing anything that wasn't played by the original lineup.

I'd been looking forward to this animation since the trailer last year, when suddenly a few weeks back the fine gentlemen who created it were deposited on desks next to mine whilst they work a freelance contract for my employer.
Slightly surreal being around as the inter-web responds to it's grand unveiling this morning.

After the turmoil of the last year it looks like I might have a permanent place to live from May.congratulations.

If all goes well I could be back in a job I love and am good at by years end, like I never left.
Posting in this thread may be a bit premature but fuck it, I'm excited.

had a lovely day with mini in manchester forbidden planet where i got zarjaz a.b.c. special a hellboy comic, the prog and the taxidermist and she got the "stone" dalek
lunch at kfc a quick perusal at the disney shop and a trip on the manchester big wheel (rip off but i've been promising her for ages) and a quick dip into cineheroes and found out there is a comic fair in preston this saturday!
because I've now got a complete set of the original Zarjaz comics. Huge thanks to two boarders for going above the call of duty to sort things for me.
because I've actually got all the strips in hand for Zarjaz 12 and that I've just scored a very nice artist for the cover of Zarjaz 13.
Have been bought a Martin OM for my upcoming 40th birthday.. sounds stunning and lovely to play.

Congrats on the album.

The missus made sure we paid our mortgage off quite a few years ago. It does pay to kill it off early. Without her money smarts I don't know where I would be now.
And yes CF I often wonder where I would be now financially if I hadn't also pissed away all my money when I was in the army. Still I wouldn't change anything though.

Tordel: sorry to hear about yours. I have friends who were caught with this last time (mid 90's), it took a long time but the value did eventually level out and they're getting close to the end of it all now.
5 years to go for me, so looking forward to sitting in my very own house reading Prog 2000!
Had a great day out at Paultons Park and Peppa Pig world today.
Had a great day out at Paultons Park and Peppa Pig world today.
I had never heard of Peppa Pig World until this post. Now I see it as an inescapable part of my future. Is it any good? My little girl isn't 2 yet, but she loves Peppa - would it be a plan for next year?
Peppa Pig has to be the single most awful program ever. The image the creators portray is horrible. She is a snotty little imp who virtually gets away with every thing. She teases her brother constantly and gets away with it. Takes credit when others do the deed. She is spoilt and just generally horrible.

Congrats Emp. Being an uncle is great, especially if, like me, you don't have kids of your own. You're never at home stuck doing the "boring" stuff and you get to spoil your neices/nephews on days out.
I didn't buy them anything when they were born as my sister and her husband already had everything they needed.
I stuck some money aside to put into their bank accounts for when they're older

My 30's are ending.
Life is indeed beginning again at 40 tomorrow.
This morning my daughter of 3 was trying to eat her breakfast whilst cradling her dolly. I asked her to put it in the pushchair whilst she ate, her reply was "I am feeding her, she is having a drink".
Yeh Sophie had the dolly's head under her top as well, But didn't notice I just didn't want her to spill her breakfast over the floor. Silly me.
My little girly does that too, she is nearly 4, we have an new baby inthe house. She lifts her top to make sure she is doing it properly!

I have to say there's plenty that was good with my 30's like my lovely wife and son but it was a period of real worry, stress and just to much shite. Started with a very heavy job that lasted the entire time (though it worked at the time) and the wife got cancer soon after, Mum then got cancer, my eye problems got much much worse and then my much loved stepdad died and my actual dad died.. it was a shitty old period. It's been a real struggle.
Tomorrow is a new Dawn.
Life's cool cos I've just done the Greggs Cancer Run with the bairns from my school. We all got free Greggs pasties! Happy days!
I've never had a REAL cornish pasty then. :( What is the hive mind's opinion of those Cornish Pasty Meat Company stalls that are springing up near rail stations? Can't speak for the hive but some of those are from the West Cornwall Pasty company and are a lot closer to the real thing. Not great but OK and more than decent enough.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have found a baby-friendly one though (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=TYV12029).

"Life is good and the girls are gorgeous" wrote barely pubescent Paisley songsmith Paolo Nuttini. This was certainly true at our ceilidh tonight but he should have added "it's 2345 and Greggs is stillopen" to convey just how awesome life can be.

GOOD NEWS: Couple of hot girls asked me if I wanted to split a taxi

well done Rog.
You get an annual check now?
If you don't mind me asking, are you gone 40?
I had a test when i was 30 that showed high levels. They tried me on statins but i was allergic so nothing was done and I've never been tested since or had it mentioned. Is there an age where annual checks might be allowed?
I do fear it could be a timebomb waiting to happen really.
I would seriously go back to your doc's and get tested again and get some advice though, remember, ninjas and cholesterol are the silent killers!
I'm 42 and I've been on Statins for about 6 years now, my Mothers side of the family seem prone to high blood pressure and cholesterol. It's annoying as I eat a pretty low fat diet, but I'm happy that it's well under control.
I get an annual check because of the prescription for the statin, I have to see the Doc once a year to get it renewed so he tends to do several other tests at the same time as well as checking my BP, I had an extra test this year because I was concerned about one of the possible side effects of the statins (a muscle wasting condition) but I'm all clear on that front too :).

You've done me a favour, that's the prompt I needed to go back and get checked again. 10 years is too long to leave it when I know i had high levels anyway.
I've just phoned up and they want me to have a fasting blood test. Mum has heart disease so it is a genuine concern really.
That's your good deed for the day Rog!
I think this is a bigger threat to me that Ninjas
I've had several large JDs...
Nice one Fishy, good luck.
After meeting each other on this very messageboard, this Monday coming marks the 8th anniversary of me and the beautiful Malchidiel becoming a couple. I've had 8 years of sarcasm, piss-takes and being told I smell of wee as well as being loved immensely and cared for so much by (IMO) the loveliest and most sadistic messageboarder ever. The messageboard has come in for a lot of stick over the years, but without it and if she hadn't have been signed up for it, we would never have met. Thanks, Mighty One!

They'll probably be serial killers - they always "seem quiet and keep themselves to themselves"
Good times. I recently did the same. Can't beat it plopping through the letterbox.

Dear Tech Support Team,
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child-processes that took up a lot of space and valuable resources.
In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities. Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3 , PlayBall 5.0 , BeerWithBuddies 7.5, and Outings 3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected.
I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0 , but the 'uninstall' doesn't work on Wife 1.0 .
Please help!
Thanks,
"A Troubled User"
REPLY: Dear Troubled User,
This is a very common problem that people complain about.
Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0 , thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!!
It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 5.0 . It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 5.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed not to allow this. (Look in your Wife 1.0 Manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support).

OWNEDTHey covered this in the latest Scooby Doo series but the person getting bullied disapeared, came back years later as a fake ghost and got her comeuppance. The original bullies got away scott free. Yeh great message Hanna Barbara.
