Well, sorry for not swimming in modern waters. Sex appeal is large part of Lara's personality, having fandom across both male and female gender. Sex appeal is not sexist. And often draws people in (not gonna say that sex sells exclusively, but in some it's intrinsic part of the character).
When a modern like version of Robert Redford plays Larry Croft, let me know.

(Considering that I wrote in not very flattering terms about  TR games reboot in "Last game played" thread, I don't think my take of TR film is that starting).

Way too brutal cinema, even by today standards. More gut-wrenching it is when you realize it's fairly realistic portrayal of borstal schools. That movie isn't made to be enjoyed at.

Tomb Raider

As I am writing this, I almost forgot the film. Runtime passes over too quickly and indicator of my dislike of the film lies in the 2013 reboot of TR, of which this is an adaptation. Not the Lara I remember. That had both grace and right physique, something that Alicia Vikander does not have. Plus, I don't find her sexy. And her grunts are painful to listen. The plot is strictly pedestrian and by the book. Lara's scenes with her Dad are rife with trite sentimentality. Main baddie is just another stupid, cardboard villain. And does every fantasy franchise has to have a grounded, gritty reboot?

Definitely file a complaint, Jade. Ofcourse, I know less than you and you know the best so the choice is all yours. But I think that every once in a while, these companies have to be challenged. Maybe it'll be fruitless effort, but maybe it'll inspire other people to do the same.

Well, shoot. I did a few scripts this summer, planning for when we say goodbye to the lockdown, no way I could do this online. For I am so bloody shy and would stutter like a schoolboy, plus I don't possess a camera, I'd blew it. Although I like the idea of telling your pitch in a 2-3 minutes, more communicative it is, than laying it out on the paper.

Patt Garrett and Billy the kid

One of coolest westerns ever. I won't say Peckinpah's best, but it's near. I like how the film establishes early on the friendship between the two titular characters, soon to be arch nemesis. And the music and visuals are great, poetic. Btw, Bob Dylan did the score, but for some unexplainable reason, he's thrown in the film, in a very unclear role. Plus, his acting...the less said, the better. My only big disappointment is the Special Edition I had the chance to see; imho, inferior over, better, but not flawless Preview version. I guess the perfect cut would be a mix of the two, which so far no one plans to do.

It's tough to care about this, because it's games. But my gut reaction was "are you saying they should KEEP the upskirt shots?" because, you know, that's also mentioned in the article.

I can't judge the change of dialogue because, who knows, it's not finished. Is making something slightly less Benny Hill a bad thing? Maybe. Maybe not. We'll see, eh?

I do agree there's a general direction in society where we're headed towards something a lot more puritan which is not great, but I'm not going to be sad at the loss of stuff that's pretty demeaning on the way towards that.

Yeah, I can agree on that. My complaint was directed that most of these reported things aren't what are made out to be. Definitely skirt shots could go (although you get scolded for looking up), but most of the "problematic" dialogue are...meh. Not much different than how people irl talk/flirt.

I hope they won't ever come after Benny xD

Speaking of wokeness, there is no better example of dialogue, mildly anodyne, going full anodyne, because... people are...lacking humor or are emotionless?

I don't think Jade here is that dangerous than could frighten some people. We all lash out, for sure, and I had my share of altercations with the folks of both gender. From what I understood from Jade's posts, he has a problem with depression, lack of sleeping and migraine attacks do not help either. But there are people with more severe mental problems and whom any sort of altercation could lead to some undesired consequence, either for yourself or the other. The truth is, very few people do get to feel or know what others do feel or know. And when the conflict is unavoidable...what then? I like to think there were situations when I went plain nuts, and quite uncalled for. Then again, I've been in situation where I somehow managed to control myself. I mean, I hated my math teacher and I nearly cursed at her when I got F once, like "go fuck yourself, twat", only because she said it's difficult to get F in her class. And I hated math.

Unfortunately changing things seems to be easier said than done.  Travel probably isn't feasible for a number of reasons.  Being on benefits means the DWP want you at hand, understandably, but secondly, my health would probably mean health insurance would be crippling, no pun intended.  My late mum had got money some years back and proposed a trip to New York, a place I long have wanted to see, and for the two of us, health cover would be then £1800 +, before anything else.

Is there some way Jade you could earn some quick quid on the side, some extra job or anything? Obviously, I am not suggesting any nefarious activities, but some job in the spare time, that still leaves you with some free time, and some money as well.

Sorry for your mishap, Jade. Humans are sundry and all.
I can't say anything that'll help your condition, Jade. I don't have a magic wand, so I can only say try to think positive. Depression is a nasty bitch; hence, try to avoid things that make you depressive, at least those that make you personally depressive. Maybe to try traveling around the world, I don't know what else to say to you. Actually, the best advice I could give to you is to make some major changes in your life. Try something new (well, traveling is one of them). Until then, I'll repeat what someone wrote here already - post on the forum regularly.

I've seen Freejack a long ago. I think I was still in elementary school then, and I guess it entertained me enough then. In the present times, I was only mildly entertained. And only because of Mick Jagger's the best worst roll. Plus, the Scorpions' end tune. And the sequence in Anthony Hopkins' mind is mindblowing, quite close actually to space-time traveling sequence from 2001. The plot is paper-thin; all interesting, but chewed-up ideas why the society is fucked up, are left aside. Yet, chewed they are, I wished that film dealt more with socially intriguing ideas, such as transferring one's mind into another body. Emilio Estevez and Rene Russo make a very unlikely couple. And I wished that film ended on an atypical happy ending route (Anthony Hopkins surviving in Emilio's body - that would make everyone's happy, right?)

I guess Russia is growing closer to their own Mega City.

Someone in the FB 2000AD Tat and chat group made pretty good ideas on the homage characters: Rod Trooper (done in Yorkshire accent), Dean Dire, Judge Drudd, M.I.C.K. 1, Fresh, and The Hounslow Heroes

Sorry to hear about your bad taste bro.

Hawk, loving an idiotic film like Freddy is better example of bad taste.
