My copy bought from the 2000AD shop is also in French
Merde!

There appeared to be a lot of interest in the 2000AD prog zero and the banned issue of Action that came with the Action 2020 Special.

So my idea would be as a premium subscription re-issue the first year of Action/2000AD as a flipbook prog by prog - so in week one you get 2000AD prog 1 back to back with Action 1.

I think a lot of people would love the subscription idea of a 'first year' collection of both titles - back to back - so they couldn't be mistaken for the originals...

The only thing I'd add is you will only receive access to the Prog on the Wednesday retail date (not as early as the Saturday before as we benefitted from as physical subscribers)

I only mention this as it annoyed me a bit. Still not sure why you can get a printed copy mailed to you before a digital one...!

General / Re: Best Xmas Prog Ever?

I don't think its controversial to contend that the Annuals are ALL worse than any given Xmas Prog, and indeed contain a worse concentration of thrills than almost any weekly Prog...

2000AD-wise I'd agree but the 1981 & 1982 Dredd Annuals are astonishing with three fully-painted McMahon stories in each. So they are rather special.

The blog is great by the way. Love it.

Ah man, it'll feel like sacrilege sticking those cans in the recycling...

PJ - the label is designed to be removed and stuck in a book. It sort of peels of and you keep it with all the others.
It's pretty slick. So no Jock in the bin.

It's Orbitron.

I got a pack downloaded for my Mac to design The Complete Lawman of the Future

2000 AD only goes back to 1977, and there were no annuals beyond the early 1990s.

Indigo, they own the IPC archive. They've got annuals going back to 1890.

The Beano have an incredible offerings
Could we have similar...?
- Personalised Prints
- Your kids name in the annual, or comic
- Annuals from your birth year
- Signed editions (alright we have some of them)

Classifieds / Re: Buying: Judge Anderson: The PSI Files Vol 2
« on: 21 October, 2021, 03:23:28 PM »
Really? why that price?
( scurries off to check the couldn't be arsed reading shelf)

I think it's never been reprinted. But it does neatly contain the Anderson-leaves-MC1-and-finds-herself story And also marks a time when PSI stories moved from the prog to the Meg
So I think most Anderson fans end up wanting a copy... but clearly not enough to justify Rebellion doing it
Hachette also reprinted these stories across two books so that may dampen demand.

Sell it if you've got a copy you're out of love with - easily £40-£50

I have been looking everywhere for it to no avail.

Thanks,
Simansio

I'm not sure finding it is the problem. It's currently £120 on eBay or £150 on Amazon. Maybe its worth saying what you would be willing to pay for it...?

Interestingly the Thrillcast with Robin Smith explained that the Zarjaz mock-up was just done with material that had already been released - i think he mentioned Redondo's Nemesis Book 2

This is the same method Dez Skinn seems to have favouted with his Warrior 0

Id still be interested in them...

The idea of each artist doing a panel - and then maybe auctioning it off for charity is genius.
You're correct though if it wasn't commissioned then it still belongs to Alan.

I just love unearthing weird curios.
I should have remembered your excellent work uncovering the Zarjaz logo David. (Beyond 2000AD, right?)

Whilst I've got your attention/s, has any artists ever had a go at drawing this?

The Dredd Fortnightly strips are well documented
It just needs a cover to look like this https://youtu.be/RloXdGGvulc

any chance of:

Judge Dredd Fortnightly mock-up - Judge Anderson / Helltreckers / Blockers etc.
Zarjaz - the Warrior rival mock-up - with the Mick McMahon painted cover
Alternity / Earthside 8 - both versions

That's all...
