Kelly Groucutt, bass player with ELO, died last week aged 63 from a heart attack.

It's bloody never ending isn't it?

Champion. I was hoping you'd go with that 'cos I have a great idea to go on that theme... right, where did I put my potato printing kit...?

Ah Tiplodocus, I too work in a bank, and have done for over twenty years, and can safely say I'm not actually surprised by the public attitude to the frontliners - the customer has always hated us!

I must admit admit I tuned in expecting to cover the TV in spittle from my apoplexy, but found myself rather enjoying it. It's a different beast to the original which is just as well, as no-one could really replace George Cole. Certainly worth a look though (probably helps me that I haven't seen Shane Richie in anything else - last episode of Eastenders I watched, Reg Cox died).

Oh, and Shannon Tweed? Hubba hubba!!

More a quick sketch than a finished piece but I like it

Got this e-mail today re my order;

Please note, when ordering titles from our website, that the software navigates the purchaser from our website to Worldpay (to take payment) and then back again to the Network website to finalise the order.

If you interrupt this redirection back from Worldpay or your browser security settings are configured to automatically stop this from happening then your payment will be taken but your order will not be finalised and your items will remain in your basket (which is local to the machine you are using). When you complete a purchase from the Network website you will have confirmation emails from both Worldpay (for payment) and from us (confirming your order details). If you do not have the latter then your purchase has not completed correctly.

If this is the case then please contact us (via the Contact Page), stating your name, address, order details and Worldpay ID (it's in the Worldpay email you will receive) and we will complete the transaction for you and ensure that you receive your order.

Which I guess explains the delay, but is still annoying!

According to the BBC obituary, he actually joined the Gurkhas for the latter stages of World War Two.

D'Israeli's early stuff was very different to what you see now, whereas Irving seemed to burst on the scene fully formed.
I agree, Yeowell's stuff could do with a bit of black - the latest Red Seas artwork seems very sparse in places compared with his Zenith stuff (speaking of which, anyone else think David Tennant would make a great Zenith in a film version?)

BARGAIN! Bought Sid James/Peggy Mount 60's comedy George and the Dragon for a damn sight less than HMV have it for! That's my evenings tied up for a while - curse you Brunt for such a good link! (and it's not even pay day yet!)  ;)

I work for a high street bank and can safely say ... most money doesn't exist! It's all a big lie! It's just like when you were a kid playing with a fisher price post office, you push buttons and hand a over little coins worth nowt. It's not as if you can go into a bank, hand over a twenty quid note and say 'This note says I promise to pay the bearer twenty pounds. I'd like my gold now please'
The Goons did a sketch 50 years ago and got it right when they paid for stuff with an IOU and got a doodle of some coins for change (or something similar). It's all pretend. Basically if everyone believes everything is ticketyboo with the cash in their pocket, it will be.

I see the News of the World is giving this away on dvd over the next few weeks.
Think of it as a quid for the 2 episode disc each week with 88 pages of bog roll free...

I was so embarassed at buying the paper, I had to buy Spanking Fetish Monthly just so I had something to put round it as I left the shop
