Film & TV / Re: BBC to remake 'Survivors'

Quote from: "M.I.K."Not to mention snot or vomit.

Most versions of the flu I've ever had have involved some kind of revolting bodily fluids. (No, not those other ones...)

I now have this image in my head of the first episode consisting entirely of people throwing up and blowing thier noses. To be honest, that would have been more fun!

I'd have to say that for a random selection of the UK population they do seem to be awfully photogenic. If it were more 'real' two thirds would be in tracksuits and we'd see episodes consisting entirely of them looting Elizabeth Duke :)

I watched the first episode of Survivors and found it 'meh'.
Quite similar initially to 28 Days Later and the 'end of the world' feel just doesn't come through. I've only seen a handful of TV series/films do this well (The Last Train, Threads for example).
This just feels as if *poof* all the people went to heaven in the rapture leaving a chosen few. The reality would be a charnel house.

I've been reading since prog 1 as well, and I'd need something more like a 5XL ;)

I remember seeing the 80's version of Day of the Triffids myself (hell...I'm getting old as well!). Hopefully the Beeb can do a good job of updating it. If you've not read the John Wyndham book I'd recommend that as well. Has one of the best opening lines of any sci-fi book around.

In the image above, Fargo seems to have a bit of the 'Dan Dare Eyebrows(tm)' going on.

Hmm.

What are the thoughts on a Japanimation style version of Dredd?

Classifieds / Re: Blitzspear Model

The story 'Secret life of the Blitzspear' showed how they were captured and trained, and what parts where added to make them capable of space travel.

They seem to be mostly organic with a metal shell made of the same stuff as the Sword Sinister, as well as a few other adaptations such as life sopport modules etc.

I also remember a story with a Klegg marrying a star then eating her in a bed?

Or was I very drunk at the time....

Suggestions / Re: Origins Of The Dark Judges

I seem to remember a story which showed the Dark Judges world in the last days of it being Judged. All I can remember is that the town around the Judges 'Castle' looked very much like the stereotypical 'peasent village' you always see around such places.

As has been noted, not as interesting as you might think.
