Lockdown comics
« on: 13 April, 2020, 07:23:33 AM »
Let's crowdsource a list of new comics that are out while the big two are on hiatus. It's a chance to support freelancing creators or to try new voices you might not have encountered otherwise.

Post paid / pay what you want / free / Patreon / Kickstarter comics here.

I'll start us off with a few:

FREE

30 new pages of Orc Stain from Jamie Stokoe on his Patreon page (available to non-subscribers)
https://www.patreon.com/posts/26558122

Brian Talbot Free Comics Compilation (pointed out by Rogue69 in the deals thread)

Four page Magneto fan comic by Sachi Ediriweera
https://www.newsarama.com/49782-creator-shares-magneto-fan-comic-while-x-men-comics-are-on-hold.html

PAY WHAT YOU LIKE (including free download option)

A selection of short comics with new ones being added weekly. One from Emily Carroll.
https://gumroad.com/shortbox

Not new, but Panel Syndicate is full of great stuff
http://panelsyndicate.com/

PAID

Quarantine Comix
https://www.quarantinecomix.com/
$1.99 for 4pg issues.

Well this inspired me to look what Martin Eden is up to and it seems he has a new free comic out called Zeros

http://zeroscomic.com/comic/zeros/

So one assumes that's worth checking out.

Check out his other stuff - though that is a more traditional payment model over at Comixology

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Just a quick heads-up that I've made a comic free to read for anyone who wants it.

This one's had an airing in the past in the Multiverse anthology that was sold at Cardiff Comic Con in 2014, and then again in the pages of Paragon. People seem to get a laugh out of it, so I figure it's maybe a good choice to put out there. I hoep it gives folks something to smile about, even if only for a little while.

Special thanks to Davey Candlish and Dan Harris (of Lou Scannon / Attic Studios fame) who both agreed to let me share it publicly. You can find it on my lettering blog, here:

https://letterpunk.wordpress.com/2020/04/18/bored-during-lockdown-have-a-free-comic/

Also, if anyone has a chuckle at it, please do feel free to share the link around wherever you like. Quite sincerely, I just hope it cheers a few people up.
Check out my DA page! Point! Laugh!

And if you enjoy HdE's work (which, as he says, was printed in a previous PARAGON) you might enjoy the latest issue in which our heroes Spencer Nero and Captain Bulldog, in a double length adventure, join forces to defeat the politician who wants to rid the land of foreigners by burning them in a giant WG Grace shaped wicker man! It's as bonkers as it sounds!
Download the latest issue of the action adventure anthology for only 99p!!

BUY IT HERE

An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

Worth noting that Lew is having a tough time of it right now, and so if you download and can fling a couple of quid his way (the page includes his PayPal details), I’m sure he’d appreciate it.
