Books & Comics / Warhammer 40k part work
18 September, 2016, 11:38:36 PM
My apologies if I'm repeating a subject, but I didn't see anything about this on here.

I thought long and hard about buying the first part of hacettes latest 80 issue partwork. I've just been made redundant so paying for the mega collection is going to be a struggle. However the first issue of the 40k books is very good and I hope it continues.

I was on the mailing list for this but it looks like I'm not receiving them anymore. Who would I need to speak to about this? Thanks.

General / ordering the prog from newsagents
21 January, 2015, 11:08:54 AM
My local shop was unable to order the prog for me as customer services didn't recognise 2000ad. Is there any reference number I need to provide, or should name, issue and day of release be enough?

Books & Comics / Guardian graphic novel cover quiz
17 July, 2014, 12:30:20 PM

Pretty easy really and contains the titles you would expect from a national newspaper but might distract you for five minutes.

Books & Comics / Alan Moore interview
22 November, 2013, 09:08:23 PM
advertising his new work Fashion Beast. His row with Grant Morrison gets a very dismissive mention.

General / Edgiverse connections
09 February, 2012, 01:47:17 PM
I can't seem to find the search function (do we still have one?), so I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a thread detailing the links between the different Edgiverse stories. Thanks.

Help! / Boards/boxes for progs
02 November, 2011, 10:54:59 AM
I know this has been asked on here before but I can't find the thread. Can anyone tell me where online I can order backing boards and boxes for the progs? This would include ones for the older size issues. Cheers.

Books & Comics / Comics for young children
24 October, 2011, 04:28:23 PM
I'm hoping to get some advice from the parents on this forum. I want to get my nephew (alomst four) into comics and was wondering if there are any suitable for his age group that people would recommend. As he's still so young then obviously ones that don't rely too much on dialogue would be best, although any that can help with his literacy would also be fine. Or am I starting him too young and need to leave it a couple of years? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I wouldn't have a clue as I don't watch it, but this might be of interest to some of you.

Help! / Getting a new MP3 player
09 September, 2011, 10:57:23 AM
Due to my Ipod taking a spin through the washing machine after many years good service, I find myself needing to purchase myself a new one. Can anyone reccomend a good MP3 player around the £100 mark? Doesn't have to be an Ipod as I'm sure there are better makes out there.

According to Facebook we're in for some big news tomorrow. Any guesses as to what it could be? Stallone to film a cameo in the new film perhaps?

Help! / Creative Suite advice needed
20 April, 2011, 12:41:27 PM
A friend and I are looking into buying some packages for use on making the football fanzine we co edit. We need something that has both Indesign and Photoshop and we are informed that Creative Suite meets this requirement. What I would like advice on is if this is the best package avialble, or if not then what is. Also need help on where best to buy this from and likely prices. The only thing we've seen has been around the £1000 mark and I was wondering if this is the standard price or if it can be done cheaper.

thanks

Events / Rules/expected behaviour at conventions
12 January, 2011, 11:27:38 AM
Mods: Wasn't sure if I should put this here or in help so feel free to move if you think it best.

This year will see me attending my first con since I was a teenager, and will be the first time I approach any droids for sketches. I was wondering what the general form for doing this is. Is there a generally accepted size of pad that I should bring along? I'm not planning on bringing an A3 book but is A5 the "right" one? Are there any other general things I should know about the process?

thanks.

according to Empire.

I'm surprised at how few of them I've actually read. Some interesting ones that I think I'll have a gander at.

General / Sin/Dex Downlode Tales question
22 October, 2010, 12:48:42 PM
I've just started buying the Sin/Dex trades and have got as far as volume three. Now I see that there is the DT supplement with the Meg coming up. Where does this fit in with the trades? Do I need to have read it by now or wait until further on in the collection?

General / This month's issue of Total Film
07 September, 2010, 03:35:07 PM
Wasn't sure which category to put this in but this seemed most appropriate. The latest issue has a section on forthcoming comic book film adaptations and Dredd gets a mention. The proga also gets a mention in their timeline of comics history (Prog 1 and the Summer Offensive.) Best bit though is in the update of development on Mark Millar's Nemesis film version. Which has a picture of, erm, Nemesis the Warlock alongside it. Some top notch research there.

Help! / Mobile phone help needed
23 July, 2010, 10:28:06 AM
I've got some kind of Nokia mobile phone. The time and date settings are correct, but any text message I get says that the time it was sent was an hour previously. This is even when I know the text was just sent. It's not a problem but it is starting to bug me. Anybody got any suggestions as to how to fix it?
