Not many worse although the Roger Moore one does spring to mind. The scan on site actually make it look better than it's published - the real one is far darker. I'm no artist but the composition is terrible, the perspective misalligned and what the background coffin? window? doodle?

Glad someone else is having a go at Robo Hunter, I got shouted down when I said it was samey childish drivel.

Dredd and Savage are the pick for me - the futures so bright I'm going to kill myself!

I got both Meg & 2000ad on Monday, in separate envelopes and in good condition. They should issue the Meg on a Thursday to spread our fun around a bit.

Pretty good round up issue although the first Dredd didn't ring true to me either. The second was shitty is all senses.

I quite enjoyed the Desparate Dan piece especially the rememberance of Viz's 'Deparately Unfunny Dan' that was a true classic!

Looks like the feared underground bombings/Charlie's war backlash didn't materialise but who thought it would? Letters page acknowledged support but only printed one massive missive. My short attention span means I prefer smaller pithier posts, but well done the writer - wonder if he gets the full page rate?

Great things promised for next month's anniversary issue but sadly, like my pay cheque, it's four weeks away!

Still nothing on http://www.smashthevolgs.net/

I hope they don't miss the chance. I remember The Simpsons used the domain www.whatbadgerseat.com to tie up with an episode. Fun animation on it too and informative - they don't eat cake!

Didn't really like it at all. I thought it was soulless and completely devoid of any wit and charm.

It started too slowly and never really upped the excitement quotient. The plane rescue was the highlight for me but even that was spoiled by the frantic jump cutting and (un)steady-cam shots.

The threat element seemed minimal - in the first we had nuclear bombs and then three super villians - what do we get here? A large crystal growing enterprise and some unexplored EMP stuff? Excitement she never wrote!

Routh was pretty good but Lois was too young, the cute kid a pain and Cyclops doing his usual pain in the arse routine. Speacey's Luthor had no real menace and why has he still got a soppy, plot hindering (his not the film's) woman in tow? Missed Ned Beattie's comic asides.

As for the plot it was way too thin and way too long. Too much soul searching and relationship issues - get on with some action, it's not Merchant Ivory you know.

Also beggared belief that Clark and Superman go missing for five years, turn up simultaniously and no one even mentions the fact!

A couple of decent sequences, but for the most part I found this really dull and uninspiring.

Interesting that at least 8 of the posters on this thread have fallen off the radar in the last 3 years. At that rate of erosion it'll be tumbleweed city in about 2 years 'round here. Excluding new people obviously.

I remember being in a New York night club (Whisky) and they had Riddick on a massive screen on a permanant loop with the sound off. Quite stylish wall paper. Unlike Glasgow's defunct Apollo Club (Appalling), formerly 'Media', which did the same thing, but with Austin Powers.

The last Vin Diesel film I saw was 'The Pacifier' and it was shite, amazingly.

I haven't watched it myself and it's probably as old as the hills but here's a link found on the movie database site for a free 79 minute Alan Moore documentary.

Shamefully the Scottish Sun put me on to this classic. One for the Cal Hab element, it's definitive proof that Hitler was Scottish.

At last I can claim a bit of culture - I saw the Ron Meuk exhibition in Edinburgh. It was good but a bit of a swizz as there were only 8 sculptures for a £6 entry fee. That said some were room sized and it was interesting - liked the 8 foot new born baby complete with umbilicle cord.

At the weekend I saw the David Hockney exhibit at the National (£9!) which was the wife's choice and Spamalot which was mine.  Worth seeing although they play fast and loose with the Grail - Lancelot gay? Lady of lake being Guinivere and marrying the king? at least they found it this time, it was under someone's seat.

Some upstairs joint in the Temple Bar. It was a bit tacky and has an enormous tray of half pulled pints of Guiness awaiting the next sucker. Abra-Kebabra is aces though.

I've never read a word of Harry Potter or watched more than a passing second of Friends. I have also never been arrested although I was detained over a snowballing incident once.

As for Murphyville I've been twice and the second time the rip-off element had reached epidemic proportions. I know we are stupid tourists but 7 Euros for a pint is taking the piss.
