I dunno. I re-read Nemesis recently and the entire strip undermines itself plenty before that point. It all started to go wrong for me around book 7, despite the great art. X was a mess. Hard to know what Tubular Hells was going for, bar, possibly Mills realising how abhorrent the original ending was to Seth and rectifying that.
