No, I'm sure it was Emperor. We went to the 2000AD 35th Birthday bash in Wales together in his car. He showed me the award, a kind of steampunk plastic plaque. He was a really nice guy, too.

Anyway, he disappeared soon after... like frost... in springtime.

That was the fella. And let's not forget his suggestion that an 18-year-old Harry Styles would be the ideal Sláine actor. Mind you, Styles has actually become quite a good actor in the meantime - maybe the Mayor had a kind of super- sanity, like the Joker in the Arkham Asylum graphic novel.

I met him a couple of times, too. Lovely guy. ISTR that after he vanished from here, he continued to be active doing Wikipedia edits for a few years...

Still, he made a big effort to keep his online presence distinct from his actual identity and I'm sure he had good reasons for that, so, wherever he is now and whatever he's doing, I hope he's safe and happy, and having a great time.
