As someone whose mainly picked up trades since the olden days I was wondering how non-fair weather fans viewed 2000AD's current popularity compared to the previous 35 years? I would've thought it was pretty high on the graph but I haven't really been paying much attention.

Judge Dredd- Judgment is death!

This book has the original Death trilogy along with classic 'filler' stories like Oxygen Board* and Face-Change Crimes. A Serb friend sent me a couple of example pages after I got him semi-addicted to Dredd (Origins works).

PS: I hope this doesn't break ettiqette or something, being a double page scan. I mean it's in foreign so few can read it, but I'll understand if it's considered a bit much.



*Their version includes multiple F-bombs for some reason. Serbs, eh? Tsk..

I've been trying to introduce a friend to Dredd. He's a bit of a cartoon nut and is wondering why there have been no attempts to make an animated series of either Dredd or (I assume) other 2000AD properties.

Maybe there has but I don't really have an answer for him. Does anyone here have one?

Now that I'm consistently adding to my old trades I'd like to go further than dipping into the weekly mag every so often and start fresh. Do you think prog 1797 would be a decent start? I was kinda drawn to the cover since I find the historical character of Boudicca quite intriguing, and Day of Chaos seems to be over for the most part. Or should I go further and see if they have a few backcopies in the shop(s)? They usually do.

I've been buying Origins for a few friends and picked up the third and final one today. By sheer luck I decided to have a quick check before mailing it out and noticed there's almost two chapters missing where it makes the switch between artists.

I don't know if this is a one off or whole batches are affected. I've already sent two to a friend but she's away so can't check them for a week. I'm hoping at least one of those is good. There are two different versions marked by the different price listing at the back. £12.99 and £15.99. Today I got the £15.99 version and my friend got one of each so she may be able to narrow it down to a specific version of the book, assuming this wasn't a one off.

The potential waste of cash is only part of the problem though. What's annoying is that I may have sent out a substandard Dredd introductory book to a newb. I know she read the £12.99 version and hasn't sent the other on yet so that gives me a little hope at least.

As a rooky, should he really have an eagle?

Does anyone know if this is used for anything? Is it a weapon? My memory's a little hazy and I don't feel like trawling through the first nine books to find out (not til I've finished Rogue anyway).
