It's all over for the rebel Andor; it seems the Empire of Disney has decided to end the series after season 2.

Not a huge surprise. Judging by what the new CEO has said, Disney is doing a massive slow-down on telly and focusing on movies again. (Which I find a bit sad, on the basis I've enjoyed the Star Wars and Marvel TV shows, for the most part, but not the recent movies.)

The plan was always to only do 2 seasons though, with the end of the second season linking to the start of Rogue One.

Wasn't the original plan 5 seasons, ending with linkage to the movie, then following discovery of how hard making one season it was the writer decided three seasons? now this?

(actually here's the article I think I read at the time saying exactly this: https://thedirect.com/article/star-wars-disney-andor-seasons )

I only ever expected two seasons, so that messaging must have been clear some time ago.

There's going to be another season!? Woo-hoo!

I recommend listening to these chats with the writer / show runner:

It's clear the show was in development a LONG time before it became what it is. I think what is written above is basically correct but it's not new news. Two seasons will serve it well! The opening post is very dramatic 'it's all over' 🙄 in fact the article even says "it's a 24 episode show" not "it's been cancelled"

Another one here who remembers the original plan, but has only been expecting the two series for quite some time now.  Don't remember three series ever being a plan...
