Perhaps the best scene in this monstrosity is when the Predator readies himself to tackle whatever crisis and we see a glimpse of the Predator homeworld.

Other than that - this is an Alien film with the cast of Melrose Place. Absolutely dire.

The last night I was out on Paddy's Day was a pub called The Queen's Cross (the irony is not lost on me) in Vancouver, 2007. As you can see, the Canadian's tend to go a tad green too. I have a vague memory of taking the last 3 photos - Mrs. Goatilocks was not impressed ...

More robots. Dandontdare should be happy.

Hugh Jackman plays an ex-fighter who becomes a promoter when human boxing is outlawed for being too violent. The new gladiators are 2,000-pound robots with human qualities. His access to sub-standard robot parts hampers his hopes for glory in Robot Boxing, until he discovers a discarded robot that always seems to win.

America's public school curriculum may be in for a Texas-sized overhaul, if the Lone Star state's influential recommendations for changes to social studies, economics and history textbooks are fully ratified later this spring. Last Friday, in a 10-to-5 vote split right down party lines, the Texas State Board of Education approved some controversial right-leaning alterations to what most students in the state—and by extension, in much of the rest of the country—will be studying as received historical and social-scientific wisdom. After a public comment period, the board will vote on final recommendations in May.

The 'revised standards' they wish to introduce are mind-boggling.

It could happen, couldn't it ..?

Speaking of Japan, my wife and I recently watched the full Shogun series with Richard Chamberlin. Really enjoyed it, even if some of the love scenes read like Attack of the Clones.

Can we have a complete Dan Dare trade, Bellardinelli/Gibbons or are the rights so tightly tied up it's an impossibility?

I second this regarding a Dan Dare trade; perhaps this will be a future publication with the news of a proposed DD movie ..?

And thank the guys at Rebellion for continuing to produce high-quality trades.

A brilliant little gem of a story and an object lesson to any other Dredd writer on how you expose those chinks in Dredd's emotional armour. You keep your weeping women and your crack babies: Dredd is
moved by devotion and duty and a desire for simple dignity.

Cheers!

Jim
