I've just been up to a local place that does printing and embroidery onto tops and the likes and enquired about getting some Hell Trek T-shirts & Polo tops done with a logo.
I must admit it's very reasonable and I was wondering if any of the trekkers are up for this. I feel the other mention was gobbled up in the thread and missed so decided on starting a separate thread for this.
I was thinking on the embroidered logo on the left chest, sort of way instead of getting something printed. I showed the place I went to the basic 'Hi-Ex! Hell-Trek 2010' design that Mike did a while back (I've just emailed Mike about a slight alteration, changing it to 'Hi-Ex! Hell Trekker' This is so it's for the Trekkers and taking the date away means that if needed the place can stitch more in years to come).
The breakdown would be this for a minimum of 10 Polos and 10 T-shirts (I would be buying two of each plus one extra to send to Mike for all his hard work he has donated to the cause)
Active Polo shirt 190 gms Navy Blue x 10 at £5.85 = £58.50
Embroidery small / 3 colour to left chest x 10 at £2.40 = £24.00
Premium T Navy Blue x 10 at £3.50 = £35.00
Set up charges for small embroidery = £15
VAT total £19.88
Total £152.38
So as you can see that is extremely reasonable. We may have to go for 4 colours as I couldn't quite see the blue around the 'Hell-Trek' whilst in the shop ::) (I noticed it when I was back home) but I can't see that being much more.
I shall await responses and questions about this project!

I tend to have a nervous reaction if I find myself in any colour other than black. I literally do not own any other colours, so I'm okay with this- as long as it's black.

I'm sure once we get all the feedback in I can go back up the place with the extra info (sizes, colours, etc..) and they can give me an exact price.
By the way when I give them the design (this is the £15 bit) they digitize it and then stitch it onto a bit of cloth for my approval. I shall then take some pics for here to show the actual finished design to all.
You can always lob a navy one in the wash with some black Dylon, SBT.
That's what I do with any non-black T-shirts that come my way!
Wow. If I end up in black I might be able to convince someone it's a photo from my 20s (I'm less of a colour nazi these days).
I shall be an avid purchaser of said garment. To be a bit contrary I'd go for navy as it would be a bit more in the military theme and not highlight the dandruff of those who still have hair.
While we are merchandising could I suggest a Hell Trek bottle opener, a Hell Trek flask and Hell Trek condoms? Only joking I already have a serviceable flask.
Okay everyone, Mike has sent me the design and if needs be he can change the border colours. I'm happy with it as it is but if anyone has any preferences then throw them in the hat.

Nice - I'd probably buy one of these. I'm crap at sums - what would each type of shirt ultimately cost per shirt, roughly? Would the tee-shirts be embroidered as well or just printed? If we all have to agree on the same colour, I reckon it's going to have to be black; or could we order X black, X blue, X red etc?
The design is very cool. I'd definitely keep it a small logo over the breast rather than a big in-yer-face splash over the front or back.

I'm just going with the embroidered small logo on the left chest, as I think that will look quite smart on both Polo and T-shirt. They told me that the T-shirt needs to be of a decent quality so that the design doesn't pull the material after a wash.
As for numbers and colours, once everyone has said yes or no I will take a list of what we want back to the shop and see what they say. They do the stitching on the premises so I don't see why the colour of top would be such a problem, but you never know with quantities.
In the end I will want the following from everyone:- what tops they want (if they want both), what colours and what sizes.
In the next few days if everyone is okay with the design I will pay the £15 for the set up charge to see what the finished item looks like. I'll then ask the Trekkers if they like it (I'll upload a few photo's)
As for the costs, on my initial post that was 20 items for £152 (just checking and it should be £176, he didn't calculate the stitching for 20 tops) which is less than a tenner a top. Obviously the Polo tops are a little more expensive but we'll break it all down when the orders come in. Also it will be 4 colours, if we go for the logo that is shown, which puts the price up slightly. Still it will come to under a tenner for each top!

Okay Hell Trekkers, I've put the design in and it should take 48hrs to be digitized and then the shop will embroider one for me to look at and take photos of, to put on here.
As for items here is the best bit, you can choose any item, that includes a hoodie for Peter and any colour from the norm, none of this 'egg shell white' stuff.
So this means if Peter wants a hoodie and no-one else wants one, Peter can have one made.
I had a look in the back of the place to see their gear and it was impressive and the owner said because they do one offs they do quite well because the big companies charge too much or can't be arsed.
So when the logo comes back I shall post the pics on here, take the orders, then get the pricing and away we go.

Okay the Polo's come in 6 colours RED, BLACK, NAVY BLUE, BOTTLE GREEN, ROYAL BLUE and WHITE(couldn't find a white).
The T-shirts come in the above plus HEATHER GREY.
So have a look and get back to me with what you would like, nothing will come in over a tenner but once I get all the orders in I can sort all the prices out individually, once the shop give me a quote!

l have put in a quick order for a navy blue one and a bottle green one. They should be ready in the new year.

I phoned the shop up today to enquire how my two Polo tops were getting along and they said I may have them tomorrow but more likely Monday.
The bad weather had kept some staff away during the last week or so.

I've just collected the trial tops (my ones) from the shop and I'm wearing one now, very nice.
I shall post a couple of pics once the wife gets back from work and then start taking orders. We will need to get this done quickly so that I can get the quote and post back on here so that they can be ready in time. I also reckon it would be best to hand them out on the Hell-Trek itself, that is unless people want to pay the postage to their house!

The hoodies are just your standard style, if I remember. If you add a date then you have to pay for another set up charge each year for the alteration.
I suppose in the future we could think of something like that.

Just back from the shop after putting the order in and paying in full.
We have 11 Polo tops, 1 T-shirt & 1 Hoodie which comes to a grand total of $140:12.
I shall put a scan of the bill on the thread tomorrow as I'm off out to the chippie in a few minutes.
Saying that the breakdown is as follows:-
Polo top x 11 £5:85 = £64:35
T-shirt x 1 £3:50 = £3:50
Hoodie x 1 £15 = £15
Embroidery x 13 £2:80 = £36:40
VAT = £20:87
Grand total = £140:12
The Polo tops are Uneek Active tops and feel excellent (yes I'm wearing one of mine now)
The T-shirt is Fruit of the Loom Super premium
