Pat Mills has just released a final chapter of 'Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave' that details where he feels his final 2000ad work is at present including Flesh, Invasion & ABCs.

I'm probably most in agreement with Colin

I jumped back on around 1630 with Zombo, Cradlegrave and Dante all great strips

And I really really enjoyed it up to the end of 1798/91 when Day of Chaos ended virtually simultaneously with Dante ending. In these three years I'd tracked down every Dante book so it was a great time to be reading backwards and forwards. I'd also catch-up with Dredd.

I still love the Prog but that was the great modern run for me

It dawned on me that the biggest criticism of Force Awakens and Last Jedi was that it robbed us of the opportunity of seeing the three leads together.

I suspect JJ will rectify it with a final Force Ghost scene where they ALL appear as force ghosts including Han. And this will be explained by Jedi/Sith being transcended etc.

That's my guess...

The current thing to do seems to be to start a Facebook group with a name that reads like a series of Instagram #tags then announce you're selling a load of early issues on ebay for 1p to fund a '2000ad-themed' Kickstarter, but refuse to provide any information regarding what that Kickstarter project is supposed to be or why you're selling stuff to fund a Kickstarter despite the only purpose of Kickstarters being to fund stuff that isn't a Kickstarter.

For all I know, the guy behind it's a completely sincere nerd with difficulty expressing his ideas, but so far it's all sounding a lot like the first minute of the trailer for Wild Wild Country.

I mean, I joined the group, just to see what insanity unfolds, but I fully expect to be selling pencils on a street corner this time next year. Or maybe lurking in the bushes outside Margot Robbie's Hollywood bungalow with a set of steak knives; who can say?
Funny. And entirely accurate. He sent me a lengthy message about his Kickstarter in an effort to take the scutiny off-line. It was about 400 words long and I still have no idea what his Kickstarter is.

Books & Comics / Re: Alan Moore thinks you're a prick!

I love Alan Moore.

He once said it's his job to give his audience what they 'need' rather than what they 'want'.
And the older I get the more I understand what he means.

There's pieces of his work that I only appreciated years later.
And maybe some that I still need to revalue.

He has been proved correct that Superhero comics now largely force an adult world on two dimensional characters that were never intended to tell such stories.

I think his whole ABC line will get a new appraisal. I just love having him around.

I'd recommend http://megacitybookclub.blogspot.com as a great place to hear readers talk about their favourite thrills.

Certainly Nikolai Dante, Brink, Leviathan, Zombo, Stickleback, Cradlegrave, Mega-City Undercover / Lowlife and Judge Dredd: Trifecta would be amongst my recommendations.

Wow. You guys are a tough crowd.

Invisibles Vol1.12 Last Man Standing is one of the best single comics ever.

Volume 2 by Phil Jimenez and then Chris Weston is incredible. Like John Byrne's X-men run in a 90s style.
And Weston came of age with a whole tpb full of greatness.

Brian Bolland put in his best ever cover work and imagination

But yes apart from the glory of Frank Quietly's last issue, the final ark of Vol 3 was a bit of a mess. Never sure if it was intentionally sabotaged as they had missed the Millennium deadline and I think Grant had nothing left to give.

He's my hero anyway.

I hope the interviewer made it clear he was going to upload this conversation.

John is very open and willing to talk to fans and I wonder if that's what he thought was happening here.

There's nothing new here but it's just a bit unhelpful without context. Of course John would want to write that story if it were ever to be told at all...
