Fair enough, but it's a reasonable inference from "you get what you deserve". Personally I felt london deserved better candidates.

I read the campaign material, felt the Livingstone administration had been in power too long but didn't particularly want to vote for any of the other candidates. While  Ken or Boris were the only people who could win and I think both would have competant administrations with different but not disasterous flaws I didn't feel the need to vote. If there had been a term limit and labour had run another candidate I may have changed my mind, but the system has been flawed from day 1 in this regard.
The sooner Labour and Tory supporters both stopped acting liking rabid eejits and got over themselves and realised that we're pretty much in an era of consensus politics for the first time in 30 years the better. Why should I have voted for Ken, Rufus and exactly what horrors will Boris unleash?

I didn't vote in the election as there was no inidividual that I honestly supported, and no one who so horrified me that I wanted to stop them. In power Livingstone was  generally more moderate than expected and i believe Johnson will also be more moderate than a lot of the hysterical left are now claiming, simply by dint of the fact he wants to be re-elected and under the mayoral voting system and you  won't achieve that if you antagonise vast swaves of the electorate. I wish people would stop ruinning around pointing to the sky falling down until we see what he's actually going to do.
The language from both sides  (I'm looking at you Evening Standard and Guardian) during the election meant that when genuine distaste was required (toward the BNP) the media had no where left to go as they'ld already made Livingstone or Johnson out to be the anti-christ, and a shameful number of people voted for our facist chums.

Jim - on the subject of the Guardian I'ld be interested to see the demographic they think would be persuaded from Tory to Labour by the words of Will Self.

I'm, amazed Peterwolf has the time to post with all his various misadventures, he's a suburban Ranulph Fiennes (apparently)

I read one of his books recently, it was strange in lots of ways I didn't expect,eg tying in the Belgian paedophile network to trans-dimensional lizard folk is distasteful at best.
Having read the jon Ronson book Them a few years ago I'ld assumed the Jewish lobby had misinterpreted Ickes comments, having actually read his work rather than an overview of it now I can't helping thinking they were right. He believes in the Protocols of the elders of Zion and repeatedly bangs on about international bankers. bit of a clue there.
I'm not entirely sure he's the harmless crank I'ld always assumed.

I particuallry appreciated the nose hair trimmer. Guess I'm now officially old. Thankfully the Battlestar Galactica sets and Call of Duty 3 more than compensated.
And can someone explain to me when it became acceptable to give men what is basically  moisturiser as a gift? Weird.

Ardals "hilarious" Thermoman  is another I'ld like to meet Dr Begby. In fact the cross over potential is endless, I particualrly look forward to then three doctors remake where he uses a sharpened poll cue on Colin Baker and Tennant in full gurn, before charming Peri and Rose with a battered Mars bar and a 6 pack of Super Brew.

Oh I don't know played Begbie style, all casual knit wear and even more casual violence it could be awesome. Imagine a school reunion style tale of a pringle clad Doc meeting back up with adric just before he died and bottleing the little shit. That s got to be at least as good as the olympics story and is already better thought through than the majority of Torchwood.

sorry but quite enjoyed it. I share the annoyance that the series would take very little editing to actually  make sense a lot more often, but like a badly trained puppy I still like it despite the shitiness.
I don't hate RTD the way others seem do but I do find a lot of his work annoyingly flawed, the most obvious example being the way  all straight males are either weak, evil or abusive fathers. Prefferably all three. It's all a bit 80s channel 4.
Any chance Stephen Moffat could stage a coup?

Actually having read some of the essay on that site I feel a little queasy. What a load of rapey fascist crap.
Although the following line did raise a smile "Power can be an incredible aphrodesiac. It is what makes men of means desirable. They are the warriors in a three piece suit of armor in today's battleground." I'll never look at middle management and their waste coats of manliness in the same light.

I see it now, the Elves are obviously Lizard folk assisting sann-torr to access the Chimneys of our Souls. I'm off to buy some Turqouise tracksuits and make badly veiled anti-semetic rants (alledgedly).

Played the Frattellis albulm to death (although not so much that I can remember how to spell their name). and was probably my favoutrite albulm of the year. And I also found myslef embarrisingly humming that "to the left" tune buy Beyonce at odd times. I believe her foxiness somehow excuse this.

Sandy Thom was particualrly annoying for too many reasons to go into, and my continued dislike of R&B hasn't found itself challenged this year. It's probably not so much the music itself  as the scrawny local white boys with their strangulated cod Jamaican accents that annoys me, ah who am I trying to kid i hate the music too.
