Film & TV / Re: Mad Max - Fury Road

Just had to post higher res versions of the costume test images from George's JL:Mortal.

So, so happy this film never got made. Though seeing Megan Gale as Wonder Woman was a pleasant experience. Poor bloody Immortan Joe nearly expired under all those Martian Manhunter prosthetics though.

It is somewhat sobering to think that it was Happy Feet that finally enabled Fury Road to get made...

I never quite understood what that weird sequence with David Bowie in FBI HQ was about... but I love the fact it's there.

Such a lovely and strange scene

I connect it to the disappearance of agent Desmond and Cooper. That he came from where they went. Arriving in a vision, a bit like Cooper later does when he is asking Laura not to take the ring.

I'm hoping you've seen the big chunk of deleted scenes from the film with Bowie?

I love seeing his character cameo quickly in TP:FWWM - one of my favourite Bowie moments in film - but those deleted scenes are just bugnut-insane...

The David Bowie sequences from both the final cut of FWWM and The Missing Pieces are "explained" in Twin Peaks series 3, along with a whole lot more bugnut insanity. Highly recommended if you can handle 18 hours of full-on David Lynch.

Well, having FINALLY finished this f-----g terrible film I've been on, I might just have time to watch series 3!!

Then again, maybe I should be bugging Tharg as to whether he might have a spare story that needs an artist.

Tough choice...

Must make for quite an interesting relationship with your senior managers when you know that all them have faced death and killed people on a daily basis.

I think the word you're looking for there is "sobering"...

Great stuff.

Word direct from Gregory at 3A about the present whereabouts of the 1/6th Dredds, in case anyone who ordered them direct from 3A (like me) was wondering what was going on...

"They shipped from factory on aug 30th and are in transit now. Usually takes a few weeks before they start popping up.

Probably going via sea freight to most locations.

CS team are understaffed and swamped. Soon as they can they'll send out notifications. I usually get mine a few days after the item has already arrived..!"

Sooooo - any day now, I guess! Cheers to Gregory for being so patient with constant irritating questions...

Emailed Customer Service at 3A today to get confirmation about 1/6th Dredd shipping, given there's been no word from them. Received this response...

"Dear Customer,
Yes, ship this week.
3A/Threezero"

Given it's Thursday now, I'm guessing that they're going out tomorrow then (am I being optimistic?)...

Whatever the case, looking forward to the arrival of the Judge!

Yup, same here. It's listed as 1 hour 3 minutes on iTunes, but nooooo. 14 seconds of a breathtaking "jumping straight in", culminating in an astounding "you must have been". I too will enjoy the director's cut. :)

Just back from 'Split' and it's actually alright. James McAvoy is pretty decent in it but he looks like a guy I know which was a bit distracting because I kept thinking '<friends name> what are you doing with them girls?'. Anyway it was pretty entertaining. Did M Night cameo as the guy with the chicken wings?

Doesn't he always cameo? :P
