This is a combination of the original colour pages and colour from the IDW collection. The US Case Files (up to vol. 12) aren't in colour.

As you say, I've become more interested in these Essential books knowing they're different to, say the Hachette collections.

The only other difference I can see between this Essential book and the IDW version is, IDW is available in hardback and has a slightly shrunk image size. There's also a collection of original full colour 2000AD covers and Jim Fern's IDW Classics covers in the back.

Will anyone be able to stop the Carlos wagon? If a talent like Steve Dillon give loads of deserved praise can't take any votes off 'The King' who can? This was was pretty count and dry from the start and its little surprise to say

How do you compare Botticelli with Van Gogh?
I love both of these artists. Without Carlos there would be no Dredd, but as a teenager I copied Steve's work and style endlessly. I loved it. I love it still. I can't have Steve Dillon getting no votes:

Despite almost everything else being awful 2020 has been a good year for music for me - one of the benefits of 8 months working at home is that I've had time to explore new releases and really get into a lot of new music whereas in previous years I've got a bit jaded and struggled to get into more than a couple of records.

I think my 2020 top ten in terms of pure enjoyment (in no order) would be:

Temple of Void - The World That Was (topical title on this one!)
Wayfarer - A Romance with Violence
Eternal Champion - Ravening Iron
Just Before Dawn - An Army at Dawn
Black Royal - Firebride
Lord Vigo - Danse De Noir
Paradise Lost - Obsidian
Villagers of Ionna City - Age of Acquarius
The Wizar'd - Subterranean Exile

I've also enjoyed the new stuff by Ulver, Moscow Death Brigade, We are Magonia, Bergeton, Graceless, Ectoplague, Elay Arson..

With music being highly subjective and emotive I don't expect anyones choices to align with mine, but I'm interested to hear what fellow Squaxx's favourite records of 2020 were and I'll totally listen to them if I can.

God, this post makes me feel old - or you live in an alternate (death metal?) universe - I've never even heard of any of these groups, let alone listened to them 
I'm still very much one of those people that buys physical copies of music - you know, those shiny silver things - and I actually buy quite a lot.

Still, the best I can come up with for this year off the top of my head is:

If you want an illustration of how friggin' insane the electoral college system is, Biden's popular vote figure now stands at 69,551,088 — more than Obama in 2008, making it the largest number of votes for a presidential candidate in history.

And yet the result is still too close to call.

(FWIW, Biden's ahead in Nevada and Wisconsin, and fractionally ahead in Michigan, but his lead is widening there as the count goes on. Those three states would give him exactly 270 electoral college votes.)

I don't care how big Biden's popular vote margin is, as long as he wins the vote!

Even Kennedy only won the popular vote by 112,827     The smallest margin in the modern era.

Biden just took the lead in Michigan by 2000 votes! There are only about 60,000 left to count. I believe he has lost Ga, Pa and Nc. Biden leads Nv by 8000, WI by 21,000 and Az by 100,000.

Edit: Biden's lead in Michigan now 25,000!!

I can't believe I'm so concerned about someone else's election result that I'm watching the Michigan count as it happens... 
Biden was 1.5% down, they are both now on 49.2% share with about 700,000 mail-in votes still to be counted. If Biden doesn't get this state he is stuffed and I'm giving up on democracy for good.
