That I don't remember. Can you recall which story?
I wish I could! I might be misremembering but I'm thinking of the one with the biplanes which ended with Ray having visible thought bubbles.

Not the Blitzspear?

And Satanus is obviously pronounced the same way as satanic.

Quote from: Le Fink on 19 April, 2023, 08:03:34 PMComparing what Barney says (and looking through case files) with the Wikipedia entry on the Mega Collection, the following Wagner/Grant/Mills/Ron Smith tales have probably not appeared in the Mega Collection:

City block
The Exo-Men
Pirates of the Black Atlantic
Battle of the Black Atlantic
A Tale from Walter's Scwapbook
The Invisible Man
Death of a Judge
The Blood of Satanus
Mega way madness
Lawmaster on the loose
Rabid
Jimps
Prezzel logic
King of the Road
The stupid gun
Bob & Carol & Ted & Ringo
Portrait of a Politician
Question of Judgement
Error of Judgement
A Case for Treatment
cadet assessment
Casey steech
Megaman
The squadron time forgot
The lurker
Battle of Chester Dog / hell's packers
A guide to mega speak

I left out the steelgrave/miller tales, but there are a few of them too.

Pretty late to the reply here but Barney currently only covers the first half of the Mega Collection so exercise caution. Think the Wikipedia page is surprisingly good here.

Hope you had seats for The Cure! Getting on for three hours and the bar was outside the main auditorium.

Website and Forum / Re: List of issues

The new forum skin looks nice, but the decreased functionality has coincided with me being pretty down on the contents of the comics to make me use it even less, I'm afraid.

I know other users have different browsing habits but, for me, the "updated topics" option is no substitute for "active topics" and makes the site a lot less usable because:
- It only shows topics with an unread post. Once you read it and go back to the list that topic is fallen from page, no more to rise forever! Makes it a lot harder to quickly read the new posts then go back and reply to topics you're interested in.
- It doesn't actually show all the updated topics. A few days ago I realised that I hadn't seen a Prog review thread for a while and took a look from the main menu. Haven't done an exhaustive check, but the "SPOILER" sub-forums definitely aren't included.

You might already have found this, but the links will work if you tilt your phone to landscape. I guess there's some invisible formatting element extending over them in portrait.

Quote from: Barrington Boots on 20 March, 2023, 03:38:35 PMI don't remember it coming from Tharg, but I do remember Milton Keynes being the butt of a lot of jokes in the 80s.
Yeah, I feel like it was a goto reference for the Jasper Carrott type of comedian but I'm not exactly sure why.

Funnily enough, I started to watch DS9 on Netflix about a year ago and I'm now almost three quarters of the way through the first series!

I'd only ever seen the pilot before and it's been pretty good. I was surprised how quickly and well they leaned into the same kind of life during wartime, resistance vs collaboration grey areas which Battlestar Galactica did.

Albert Pyun, director of many a mid-budget action masterpiece and the greatest Marvel movie there ever was.
Terrible loss to cinema.
I'm knew he'd been suffering from MS but that's still a shame. I'm not going to pretend he was a great director but a few years back my favourite online film reviewer was doing a Kickboxer retrospective and Pyun turned up in the comments. He was really nice, shared a few stories about the chaotic nature of his productions, answerers summer random questions and just seemed genuinely happy to find people talking about his work. Even the ones who were giving it a kicking.

Yeah. Dolph Lundgren riding into battle in a neon seahorse. Anyone who can't appreciate that needs to take a long hard think about themself.

Dear god, man! Why?
Hurr. Short answer is that I find it useful. It's both content and structure, and helps me find stuff. I'm pretty sure Cosh has his own version of it, as well. Which *might* help him feed Barney from time to time. I'm not sure about the exact method by which Cosh feeds Barney.
Indeed I do. It started as a download from your old web page I think. Over time, I stopped cataloguing the Meg in the same way, because it didn't seem worth the effort, but I've always kept the Prog file updated. A year or so ago, I realised I needed the Meg details for something else I was working on but didn't have them and couldn't send you a PM. So, if you'd be willing to share that Meg data I'd be really thankful.
