Looking forward to Ichabod Azrael quite a bit.

Where did you find the previews this time Grant?

QuoteA bit of a return to form after The Darjeeling limited, which I personally found a little dull and meandering.

Yeah while I enjoyed Darjeeling Limited I don't think it was a patch on his previous.

I'm a massive Wes Anderson fan, Life Aquatic is probably in my top 5 films of all time and Rushmore not far behind but for what ever reason this is exciting me. Hopefully when I see I'll still enjoy it?

I've commented on this in the Reviews thread but I'm always a little bemused that people think Shakara is light on story as I think its a really intriguing tale being told. The only thing I can assume is that the design work is so strong and the violence so well presented and dramatic that it distracts from what I think is a fantastic story being slowly revealed behind it all.

And here in a few posts we have explained exactly why 2000ad is such a great comic, well in fact the Galaxies Greatest. Stories that divide opinion, that people love or otherwise can sit side by side and it offers different people different things in different ways and thus constantly challenges us and ultimately itself to try different things and thus grow.

...glad I sort that out!!!!???!!!

Arh it was video game work for Chicken Run not the film itself - that explains that. Anyway I'll issue my standard cry when it comes to these matters

Tharg get this fella back in the Prog!

You're BOTH wrong - Defoe is the most overrated strip in the prog!  ;D

Now there's an opinion I can really get behind.

I once had an incredibly beautiful student dentist who I was, in those brief pain filled moments before having her pull out my shattered teeth which I had smashed on the Leadmill floor, I was quietly falling in love with. Imagining great passion and then a quieting of our relationship as we settled down to raise little uns.

My dreams were shattered when it became apparent from her conversation with her tutor that she didn't really know how to inject painkiller into a bloody mouth and actually managed to make the process of administering said pain killer more painful than actually having smashed three of my front teeth in (or out in fact).

Shame she was very nice.

Detente has been achieved on this subject in my own castle, and the assembly of allegedly-acceptable IKEA Billy bookcases is ongoing.
I recently assembled Besta bookcases from IKEA. Pretty happy with them despite some assembly issues namely the back panel not fitting and me having to widen the groove for it to fit in.

I still have tons of comics elsewhere but I was recently reunited with these friends. While I can get away with it, they are proudly on display in my work room. Er, our second room.

Beautiful photo by the way, TordelBack.

Arh my attic eves are full of Ikea shelving (and the comics that so naturally go with them). How I remember the pain of putting together even these simple things!

General / Alex Ronald - What ever happned to?
01 October, 2009, 12:52:45 PM
Well I'm reading the 1000's at the moment and therefore have seen a lot of Alex Ronald's art which I really like. Having looked ahead on Barney it would appear I have a lot of Missionary Man work by him coming up which I'm really looking forward to as he seems a really good fit for that strip.

Anyway after that nowt. So I did a quick search to see what he moved onto and can't find anything except there is an Alex Ronald who moved into animation around the time 2000ad's Alex disappeared, though since the film I've seen him linked to is Chicken Run unless he was designing this would be 3D work. Anyway just curious really does anybody know what happened to this fella?

Dennis O'Neil's guide to writing:

Beat me too it. I thought this was a great article and if you're going to listen to anyone about this it might was well be a class act like Denny O'Neil... now to follow his advice!

While at the moment I don't get the Meg there are a number of stories I wish would be collected and maybe some compilation of the interviews, assuming they are an interesting read?

Speaking of Ron Smith just spotted this on eBay. Not sure its worth £1500 but nice piece all the same.

Also some of his Star strips for £500ish each from the same seller.
