Those office attachments...

Hi all, I wonder if anyone had any idea about this:

Does anyone actually own the rights to office style  attachments (don't laugh): Photoshopped images, that kind of thing? Some are annoying of course, the better ones must be seen by literally millions, someone must be making large bucks from it but I wonder if the person who came up with it ever gains?

It's just that I had a fairly amusing Star Wars-related idea that might just proove popular but it would be a shame if I forwarded it to a few people then found it was soon all over the world. Anyone know of any place that would actually pay for that kind of thing, even small money?

Also, anyone know a good source for images from Star Wars (Return Of The Jedi really), specifically the climactic Emperor vs Luke fight? I know it seems ironic to mention rights when of course things like Star Wars stills are just bandied round willy-nilly.

Cheers,

ADE

You mean pikey little things that people create and forwards around the interweb? Some of them are part of sophisticated viral marketing efforts, most are just something that someone knocked together for a laugh out of material of questionable copyright status.

If your asking if George lucas no longer owns Star Wars just because someone sent a funny screengrab of it round the interweb... well, I think you can guess the answer. Now, in a case like that you may be alble to argue some kind of fair-use, though as soon as you start making money off of your funny clip of starwars your in some very questionable territory indeed.

I'm thinking more of the Emperor's crazy electro hands keeping Luke on the ground.

Just saw episode 3. Rubbish.

Dumn question about the rights I know I know, I think I was just trying to skate around my real, more shameful question: Does anyone pay for this kind of thing?

Perhaps you should work on coming up with the next crazy frog instead.

The rights will belong to you, everyone will love it (or hate it) for six months, forget about it in twelve and you'll end up with a heap of cash.

Seriously ;)

Obviously you're not a golfer.
