Hi all,
Last year I organised an auction of artwork by children's illustrators to fund research done by the transplant team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Thanks to any of you who made a bid and to anybody reading who helped promote the auction.

This year I'm changing the themes. There will still be an auction of artwork by children's illustrators but the first auction will be themed on Doctor Who. I've already recieved artwork from comic artist Adrian Salmon, from cover artist Colin Howard, from digital artist Lee Binding and from concept artist Peter McKinstry. More has been promised.

Later on I hope to run an auction of comic artwork. There's already a piece by Barry Kitson on the site. There should also be an auction of cartoons and caricatures. A signed caricature of comedian Richard Herring is up there too.

The blog to promote the auction is found at : http://art-for-hearts.blogspot.com/

Please drop by and take a look.
And of course, if any of you out there are professional artists and would like to donate something please do get in touch.

Many thanks,

Ian

A lovely piece of work by Mike Tucker arrived at the weekend. Mike is head of The Model Unit who have been responsible for many of the special effects in Who both old and New.
Back in 1997 he drew a sketch for a new TARDIS console and has posted over a signed print of said sketch. It's a great piece of history that never was.

Artist Pete Wallbank has been in contact to offer an original commission to the highest bidder. The winner would also recieve any preparatory sketches done along the way. Pete has been responsible for painted video, book and magazine covers as well as well as calendars and his stuff is stunning.
An example of one of his commissions is up on the Art for Hearts blog whilst other samples are up on his website. Please do take a look.

That is some impressive Dr Who goodies you've got there already - imagine the hardcore who fans would fight each other for possession of that. The Barry Kitson Anderson page rough is embarrassingly good for something one might attach the label "rough" to.

Good luck with the auctions and let us know how it goes.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

There's some great stuff in there, and all for a good cause. Be sure to let us know when the auction starts so I can bid for a couple
An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

The auction is going to start the week of 5th - 12th July (National transplant week) on Ebay. It'll kick off with the auction of a Pete Wallbank original commission. After that the plan is to auction one piece a week. I'll post a time-table up on the blog and also here closer to the date.
Please do drop by now and again as some more cracking art has been promised.
