The 45th anniversary prog (2270) coming Feb next year and details related to a special Dredd story:

https://2000ad.com/news/john-wagner-returns-to-judge-dredd-for-45th-anniversary-with-the-citadel/

Judge Dredd: The Citadel - 128 pages, paperback, July 2022 (ISBN: 9781786185686)

That third page seems to show Dredd shooting at Sov Judges with a Mk 3 Lawgiver.  It looks too chunky to be a slender, of-the-era Mk 1. Maybe it's a training sim rather than a flashback at this point?

The previous page suggests to me its the recollection of the bloke in the bed (one assume the fella in an iso-cube awaiting death) and this is flashback.

That suggests the gun in Dredd's right hand is a Lawgiver Mk1 - just how Dan draws it and the gun in his left is just some gun he's got, suggesting the needs must position the Judges are in?

Either way we'll find out when we get there and this looks very exciting!

Occam's Razor: most artists draw characters how they draw them and routinely forget about things like the gun design having changed—or Dredd's many uniform changes.

Just seen a post in reply to a FB thread started by Dan Cornwell. Its 10 parts according to Mr Wagner - though John W didn't know what else would be in the trade.

My punt is hopefully its used as a showcase for Dan's other Dredd work. 'War Buds' springs to mind as a possible fit?

War Buds was the first thing that popped into my mind when i saw those pages. Emaciated ex Judge strapped to a bed and all that. However War Buds has already been collected in the Cold Wars trade.

Karl the Viking Webstore Exclusive Cover:

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Good catch - I was quietly oblivious to this and it looks great. Straight off Michael Allred drawing Zenith is something we should all have in our lives!

O Lucky Stevie!

That Aldred Zenith is ARSOM!!!

Looks like Karl the Viking is sporting a substantial page count. The Webstore Exclusive hardcover is coming with a hefty AUD $30 delivery fee to Australia. That's one heavy book.
"We'll send all these nasty words to Aunt Jane. Don't you think that would be fun?"

Australia comes with a surcharge because they have to put an upside down label on so your postal service can read it.

They have to use the kangaroos with the really big pouches.

Lot of ignorance on display here about Australia. It's actually the cork surcharge, for their hats.

There's also danger money for the postal workers as they have to navigate their way through the Dropbear Rainforests on their rounds...

They're 'avin' a larf with the Amazon description though (emphasis mine):
QuoteKevin O'Neill is a 2000 AD legend. From working as an art assistant on the very first prog, he quickly became involved in the creative side of the comic, co-creating classics like A.B.C. Warriors, Bonjo From Beyond The Stars, Metalzoic and Nemesis the Warlock.
