 Prog 1. I was trying to fill the void left by the pre ban Action (Still vividly remember the death of Red McNally in Hook Jaw & the return of Al Rico in Death Game 1999.) After seeing an advert in another comic it was Flesh that grabbed my attention (And that of my red crayons, more blood!, more blood!) becoming my favourite story in the first 19 issues. Though McMahon's image of Dredd, holding a smoking 'Lawrod' in the last pannel of prog 7s story, made him a very close second. From the 'Sevenpenny nightmare' to 'Thrills of the future' it was great being a kid in the 70s.

 I think that the premier should be held somewhere near the middle of the country, accessible to all corners of the kingdom. Somewhere with bars, hotels & places to eat. An Imax cinema too so that Dredd can be viewed in its full 3D glory. But where is there such a place you cry, I'll tell you...... Birmingham!!! There could be people dressed as judges, lawgivers raised to the heavens, lining the red carpet. Popcorn buckets made to look like Judges helmets, then when the snack is eaten they can be worn on the head. Balloons, lots of balloons.

 Great post Commando Forces, all encompassing. (I think that's the right word.) With the helmet, in the early drawings the eye pieces were larger and rounder. It was Mick McMahon who began to develop the smaller, more angled eye slots later on in the strip. Artistic licence/what looks cool v practicality. Your insight into a combat situation with this visual impedance was, please excuse the pun, eye opening. Once again, great post.

 Also by filming on a budget, in a country where you get 'more bang for your bucks' you increase your chances of turning a proffit. (sorry again if going over old ground.) Dredd pics look ace by the way.

 I believe that Anderson's inclusion in this movie, as well as being a counterbalance to Dredd, is to set up character for a sequel. If that is the case then the possibility of  Death appearing is good. In the recent Batman series of films, the first film took 'lesser' villans so that they could concentrate on re-telling the origin story. The second film could then devote more time to the Joker story. (Sorry if I'm covering old ground here.) Personally I'd like to see a Dredd sequel start along the lines of JD's return from Luna 1 (Wagner & McMahon in perfect harmony.) Then Death, Death, Death all the way.

 HI everyone. I have been reading 2000AD & The Meg since day one and still have fond memories of getting prog 1 with my mates on that fine saturday morn. I'm the only one left now of the 'Saturday Space Spinner Squad', the others having fell foul of the thrill suckers over the years. Grud rest their souls. Looking forward to being part of this forum.
