Last day. We know how this one is going but can Skizz beat Anderson's record for number of votes for a single thrill? You have today to get um in and I'll tell you in the morning.

As might be expected its going to be close this one. I think Cradlegrave has the slight edge so far. This final day of voting could change all that. If you've not already get um in today and I'll count up in the morning.

Well if Week 1 was a gentle phasing in of quality from Round 1 with some pretty ropey ties, Week 2 hits us right between the eyes with the other end of things. This is the week that if I’d been feeling a little fast and loose with the draw I could have opened with. There’s some mouth watering ties and some decisions that will make your eyes water. THIS is what Round 2 is all about…

Interesting early tie for Ichabod and his title of so many words, a thrill I think could do well in this tourney, if any modern thrill can withstand the wave of nostalgia that will carry the classics. Mechastopheles is an even more recent series that seems to have built up a bit of a fan base, but enough to unseat Ichabod? Only you can decide:

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.

Match ends early on the morning of Sunday 30th January  and the winner gets a place in Round 3 (of 9!!!).

What on Earth is ALL of this?

For those that need ‘um and can be bothered to follow ‘um there’s some simple rules

Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN!

I really like Grey Suit - there, said it. I know it doesn’t have a massive following, but amongst Uncle Pat’s modern works it's one of my favs and was one of the best vehicles for his recurring themes (and boy do they reoccur!). Button Man though is a classic and could well go far in this tourney so starts as strong favourite here:

VOTING CLOSED

Anderson might not have got all the votes here, though nearly, but it did break a record. The thrill has more votes than any other so far to win a single vote and becomes the first to get 20 votes. With consistany excellent stories and highs such as Shamballa amongst those how far can the thrill go. For now we know

Anderson Psi Division

will be in Round 3.

VOTING CLOSED

Really mxied bag this one. There was a number of folks who abstained, a number of votes for each of the thrills. A really great example of two very different thrills evoking very varied reactions. Both thrills have their merits, they are truly original and exciting in what they do. Only one has a thrill as fantastic as De ex Machina and I suspect on that basis

Tyranny Rex

stays out the nunnery and takes her tail into Round 3

The older I get, the less I like Dr & Quinch. But. A *Jamie Smart* full-on anarchy Dr & Quinch in Regened…

This - exactly this.

I like Keith Burns art he and Garth did a Jonny Red for Titan Comics together. I believe he will be on art duties in the Battle Action special as well

Yeah I believe so. The art line-up on the Battle special is so strong.

Trigan Empire volume 4 covers released - inc. one by John M Burns

Jez John M burns is just incredible. I don't think (???) he ever did the strip, but that would have been a thing to behold.

In checking that fact I've seen he's listed as having done a strip / image for something called 'The Spirit of Eisner' in 2017. I'd forgotten he'd done a page in Sean Phillips' passion project - this evening I might have a trip to the nerd cave!

Oh certainly we'll get a whitewash at some point. Just not here as it looked like it might be for a while. I'm pleased Hunted got a vote as its a fantastic thrill, just it came up against one of the greats. The first  what 10 years or so of Anderson have a sustained quality rarely matched in the Prog for me... if ever in fact.

I've missed those before, but they provide a perfect example of why Keith Burns is one of Garth Ennis' go to artists for his war materials. That cover for 'Steel Inferno' is incredible!

13
Well its not going to be a whitewash due to the wonderful Mind of Wolfie Smith, but its entirely possible that Anderson will get the highest vote score to date. I'll count up in the morning and announce the result then.

Some good cut and thrust here and there's seems to be a clear frontrunner from a quick scan, but plenty of support for each thrill so final day votes could move the way this one goes when I finally count up tomorrow morning and announce the result.

I’m fascinated to see how Ace Trucking does in this tourney. It has so many fans, but ended so poorly (personal opinionTM). Is it a dark horse for a spot in the Quarters, or will it fall early? Well I struggle to see HAVN, intriguing thrill though it is, offering much to stop its progress:
