Ive been looking at that batman: black mirror book for a while now, and wondering... I quite like scott snyder- while i dont think he's a particularly interesting wordsmith, like moore or smith, or even an ingenious plotter like abnett or wagner, there's something about where his mind seems to go that makes him massively readable, and despite initially being unimpressed with both his take on swampy and american vampire, i find myself now looking forward to both greatly. When i find black mirror cheap (or paperback) i may well pick up, despite not being interested in batman in the slightest.

I found Snyder's run on Detective Comics to be a something of a companion piece to Year one.
Great, great stuff.

Black Mirror is quite good, particularly the second half. Snyder's co-written Image series Severed is also worth a look.

Best game has to be 'Dead Space' for every reason. Just make sure to pick it up cheap though- price can vary hugely (from €0.79 to €7.99), depending, it seems, on the whim of EA Games.

Really enjoyed it. Cook on scripting duties and Amanda Conner on art who can do no wrong in my book.
Basically Laurie in high school and the conflicts of that against her mothers insecurity and desire for her daughter to become what she was. Its a bit teen soap opera but I have no problem with that as it suits the backstory they want to tell.

Really enjoyed it too.
Just got it today in physical format, and was really impressed. Best art Amanda Connor has ever produced, and sublime colouring.
Looking forward to the San Fransisco setting next issue.

For what it is (good or bad), I've gotta say; 2 great comics so far IMO.

The current Grey Area story, though shaping up surprisingly nicely is bugging me because of the ridiculous tit-enhancing breast plates on the womens' armour.
I think it was on another thread here where someone in the know explained how armour like this could cause terrible injury to the wearer.
Everything else about the story is fine..just lose the domed breast plates. I think we can work out who the female characters are through other means

I'm sure more than a few male 2000ADonline users would have to be issued with that armour if the world of Grey Area came to pass in the ridiculously-near-future.
