I'd rather have no movie at all than some low budget dross.

I guess I'm thinking more in the line of Spooks, Lewis, The Killing -  hour long or feature length - that sort of thing really...

All well and good, but when you try and do sci fi on that kind of money...

...You get the Wing Commander movie. Oh dear.

Its a dreamy question, but does anyone know the kind of budget those movies on The Horror Channel / Movies For Men etc have ?
I'd happily watch a Dredd movie with that kind of budget, and if anyones seen the SFX on CBBC Wizards Vs Aliens I am pretty sure Millenium could do an awesome job here in the Uk.

If anyone has an idea on those sort of budgets, I'd love to know ?

Z- Budget movies. Meaning you could not even buy a Boot's meal deal  with the amount of money they spent on it.

Is the Ten-Seconders a super hero themed story? Surely that make's it a minority in the fold, I can only think of Zenith and that gimmick strip imported over from Tornado.

Great prog. Loved the dialogue between Dredd and the other Judge.In contrast, every time I almost get into Savage, we get a line like "Even radical organisations like the Tolpuddle Martyrs - opposed to the return of the royal family - have agreed to work with you."
I'm pretty sure that as a terrorist leader, Bill would have know their position on the Royal Family and did not need it explained to him...

I'd usualy agree about the dialogue in Savage, but in this case it's coming from the mouth of a rich tosspot so, who knows. Oh, and it turned up yesterday btw. What's the point of a sub if the only extra I get is not having to walk down to smith's and buy it? Hopefuly it's just shite post new years service.

One of those reviews has used the perfect term. Sleeper Hit. With very little luck needed it would seem, this may well be the case.

I guess I have to get around to ordering a copy as well. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be contributing as much as the rest of you, one blu-ray box is enough for me.

It was going quite well until the 'tears save the day' resolution. I think I must have dozed off at some point though. What's the [spoiler]Great Intelligence[/spoiler] and why was the Doctor carrying [spoiler]a lunchbox[/spoiler]?

The [spoiler]Great Intelligence[/spoiler] is a malignent life form that has no physical body so leaches of individuals of power (Previously Padmasvbava of the Tibetan Monk's in 1967) and a long serving villein and occational thorn in the side for the Doctor. Essentialy it's one of those god-like beings that should really be above a silly rag man in a little blue box. He used [spoiler]Robot Yeti[/spoiler] to basicly hold power int Tibet and used them again in the London Underground (Not just good for Bond chases and Quatermass story's after all then) which is where the lunch box come's in. It's just a throw away fan wank, basicly.

And the missing scene's where only shown for the first time earlier this year in the UK for years at a big screen showing. Doub't we'll see it on home video for a while, though I hear Crtierion across the pond have aquired the right's and will possibly be the completely uncut edition.

You know certain individuals will buy them all anyway..

I'll certainly be getting as many as possible. Being a proud film buff and head of the college film society I pride myself on hunting down foreign editions of some of my fave films. I've lost count of how many copys of the original Wicker Man I own.
