Prog / Re: Prog 2175 - Semi Detached

Another good  prog. Since the start of the year the prog has been very good. 2020 is so far a great year.

The highlights for me is Aquila and Simon Fraser's art and return on the strip that we will not name. Adding to this some nice work from Googe on Survival Geeks as well.

With all the doom and gloom world-wide thank you for Tharg and team for giving us a ray of light.

For me the only option is digital. Getting magazines/comics trough the postal service is a disaster. I am not prepared to wait 3 plus months for the latest prog.

Wow, since I went digitally this is the first time that the digital prog is not available.  I have avoided to read any spoilers or even previews on the new story, so now it is the waiting game

When is the last time we saw Simon Fraser's work in the prog ? His last work I believe was in the finale of Nikolai Dante "Sympathy for the Devil" in prog 1791 (2012) and his last Judge Dredd was "In Control" in prog 1717 (2011)

His last work for 2000AD was Nikolai Dante "Devil May Care" in the 40th Anniversary Special (2017)

A very enjoyable special. Two great stories, one good and two not bad at all.  The one thing that is the standout in this special is the great art of all the stories.

Both Kids Rule Ok and Dredger my least favourite stories. Dredger's story felt a little bit flat and was let down as already mentioned by the lettering (at least we had Staz on art duty here to save the day).

Hook Jaw was a good showcase of how to do a story without any words. The art the drives the story and action with the last page of the story a great what if? finale.

Now we come to the highlights of the special, Hellman and Hell Machine. It is great to see Ennis back in action and doing what he has been doing for the last few years, writing great war stories. I was never a fan of Mike Dorey's work but what a surprise I got. The B/W art just works brilliantly with the theme.  Next, we have Flint's work and hopefully we will see some more of this in the prog or other specials (what about the meg?). Hell Machine is one zany, whacked over the top, what the hell is going-on, brutal action fest of a story. The world building is in overload mode here.

Overall, I can say the special was a winner. More please, next year!

This was a good prog. Good to see the return of Aquila, another great Rennie character. Hopefully this is not the last of Feral & Foe

Be patience with Brink, it can be that it takes a little longer to build to the climax but it is worthwhile the read.
