Hi everyone,

So I'm new to 2000AD. I've only recently started getting into comics actually, but I'd read some Dredd and Rogue Trooper as well as various other bits and bobs like Leviathan and some non-2000AD Alan Moore works, which are of course pretty obligatory and amazing. I was thinking about getting hold of the Dredd Complete Case Files, but soon realised that I'd quickly have spent a huge amount of money so I thought, sod it, let's just jump in.

I study at Keele University and, happily, they actually sell 2000AD in the newsagent on campus (along with a few Marvel UK series and other odds and sods) so that's where I picked up #1705, which I've really enjoyed. No doubt I'll become a regular reader and will come back and discuss future progs  ;)

Hey Rook, welcome to the board and welcome to the prog! We're a pretty friendly bunch here (though watch out for the one they call Godpleton) and will happily answer any questions that will no doubt arise as you (hopefully) continue to buy the prog.

Emperor

A shiny new reader, let me touch your face for luck.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Glad you enjoyed your first prog, there's so much fun to be had catching up with the rest of the wonder 2000ad stuff out there.

Welcome aboard and have fun.

Welcome! You're one of a number of brand new readers we've had pop up lately. This is fantastic, and even better, in my eyes, than when lapsed readers come back.
If yoy're a student, you're probably on a budget, but i would recommend the case files, the agency files, nemesis, kingdom, slaine, flesh, abc warriors, stickleback, and loads more. Try your (campus?) library. Order them in if they dont have them. But read them!
Also check out the 'everthing comes back to 2000ad' podcast, barney and the archived 2000ad review site.
Have fun.

Peace is a lie, there's only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.
