God knows what they were smoking over at Nintendo's Japanese headquarters, but they've come up with one of the weirdest names for their new console:

Ah, I'm sure it'll grow on me, but it is an utterly fruitloop decision.

If nothing else, it - and the controller - seperate the console completely from the wider public's perception of games machines. An odd, but unthreatening name, together with a controller that you can just move to play with, plus stuff like Nintendogs, Animal Crossing & Brain Training (all pretty much a shoo-in for Wii versions, I'd think) and more traditional Nintendo-calibre games - plus the exclusive titles from third-parties that you won't be able to play on any other console?

Nintendo are gambling big with this one, but they could be very successful - daft name & all.

I need a wii,(someone had to do it).  I heard it was going to be in the region of US$200 - US$300 launch price.  I'm still looking forward to having a Wii and hopefully it will truelly be a gaming revolution instead of more of the same(not that I hate my 360 or anything i just dont think we need another Graphics Whore machine).
Do you guys have Metroid Hunters in the UK yet, any good, they keep delaying it down here the bastards its what I brought my DS for(though I did have imense fun with Kirby and Meteos).

Um, no. The rumoured $800 was for PlayStation 3, not the Revolution/Wii.

No Nintendo console has ever launched for more than $200, and there are rumours that they're aiming for a figure below even that.
