It makes it interesting to have  the different styles and interpretations of Dredd. I cannot really fault Miranda's work here.

I have never read that part of the prog. Firstly too small and secondly the first part of the "story" is boring

Dredd – As with any of McConville's once-off Dredd strips it always feels like a split in middle, this round we pendulum has swung to a mildly entertaining thrill. Love the art on this one tough.

Scarlet Traces – It is as always, a very enjoyable strip. Again, it is a case of having to acknowledge D'Israeli's great work on the strip just awesome.

Kingmaker – This is one of Edgington great works and the strip is compliment with some great art. The only let down is that we now need to wait for the next chapter (hopefully this is not going to be another 2 years). It ends with a bang.

Thistlebone – Great intro to the new strip and what a treat to have Davis on art duty (and we get 10 bumper pages by him, plus the cover).

Overall a good prog slightly let-down by Dredd

Got halfway through Wizball though. Mood: joyful.

oooh, is that the one with the little paint-drops? I'd forgotten that, but I used to love that game!

Had Wizball on the C64 and absolutely loved it. Sound effects are carbon etched into my memory.
Never did finish it though - had a black & white TV in my room in 1988, so couldn't determine the droplet colours.

Yes, Wizball was plain awesome. It was one of my favorites on the C64

Watched Dark Phoenix today and the movie is much better than the reviews make it out to be. I enjoyed this one more than Apocalypse

McCarthy wrote and drew a wonderful Spiderman/Doctor Strange team-up called Fever which is well worth a look

This absolutely. Fever is such fun.

Found it on Comixology: https://www.comixology.com/Spider-Man-Fever/digital-comic/492155?ref=c2VyaWVzL3ZpZXcvZGVza3RvcC9ncmlkTGlzdC9jb21peG9sb2d5VW5saW1pdGVk

Looks good

For all history buffs and people out there watch Chernobyl.  This is great 5 part mini-series on the what and how of the nuclear disaster. This was the bullet or the event that started the fall of Soviet Union.

If you a fan of McCarthy you can always try out "Dream Gang" (written and drawn by him).

Great prog (again).

Max Normal is not my favorite Dredd-verse character but this series was a very enjoyable. Even the art from Cornwell was great in this series (again not my favorite artist)

The epilogue of Dredd was interesting with Flint doing what he do best - draw an awesome Dredd.

Both Kingmaker and Scarlet Traces do not disappoint. With great art in both strips and good scripting from Edginton.

The Terror Tales might lead to some more later on. Who says The End is really the end ?

I was hoping that very soon I would have read all the Dredd stories in the prog. Now that I know that the Prog "2001" story "Bad Mother." is missing my life is not complete. I damn a reprint.

On a lighter note hopefully the missing stories will be available in the "Judge Dredd Restricted Files Volume 5"  :)

Other Reviews / The Complete Case Files 33

What I always liked about the Case Files is the variety on both the stories as well as artist. It is again the case with Case Files 33 with some of the best Dredd artists. The Case Files where not as strong as previous editions but still very enjoyable.

The highlights are:

Star Drekk :A Space Fantasy – A funny parody ripping of Star Trek.

Bodies of Evidence – A good story about human trafficking originating out of Calhab.  Art on this one is by the great Cam Kennedy.  It is always an awesome treat to read any story featuring his art.

Relentless – Colin Wilson provides the art. Dredd must venture the Cursed Earth to bring some instant justice to a mutant lizard Snake Eyes.

Chief Judge's Man – A story where a hit-man is used by the reigning Chief Judge Hersey
(or is it?)
to take out any pro-democracy activist.

The volume ends with a good story out of the Meg related to the Lawlords called Lawcon. The Lawlords latest appearance was in Prog 1894 – 1899.
