I can imagine greater - spelling it 'Sci-fi'.
I don't have a telly anyway. Drug of a nation, breeding ignorance and feeding radiation.

Oops, sorry, missed that. Anyway, here are mine. 15 seconds a character, obviously, not a page. The chap who looks least like he's meant to (and that's saying something) is Jack Dancer.

Atmospheric! Nice toothbrush-spray effect too, the colour scheme is great

QuoteI don't think the arc welder was intended to be used for anything other than to cut through the bars. I don't even know if you can cut through iron bars using an arc welder, but it's something taken directly from the comic.
I'm not sure you could either; or if you did it would take loads and loads of time. And i also seem to remember the guy in the comic advancing on Rorschach with the welder in his hand, which in reality does not have the blue glare until it touches metal.  That was the point i tried to make in my previous post - in the film they had an angle-grinder and it made more sense than the comic, where they used the welder.

Yeah, most comic fans complain when they tone down the sex and violence elements of the original. Get over it - it's a violent world and people have sex, and the few street fights and glassings are nowhere near as violent as the notion of the few in charge preparing to destroy the whole human race in the name of a political power struggle.

And  to take a small example, I thought
that cutting the fat guy's arms off in the prison to get to Rorschach made a lot more sense than slitting his throat - what was the point of that anyway?  He's still in the way.  (Regarding the same scene, I used to work in a bronze foundry, and am not sure there's a lot you could do with an arc welder to a human bar blind him. I could be wrong there, I generally worked in the mould-making department, but think an angle grinder would be much more useful. Unless it's a special Manhattan spin-off arc welder)
Great idea for a competition!
I only got the first two. Are you sure the last one is Judge Death Lives? I thought it was The Judge Child

Hmmmm, 'Judge Death Lives'. That's a bit rich, isn't it?

QuoteThat is -- however -- a very minor niggle.

That's racist.

QuoteAnd plenty of clueless parents brought their young kids
It's a fucking adult rated movie. Clueless is the word - you can't blame a film for cinemagoers being stupid.

QuoteThere were so many disgusting, violent, morbid, grisly scenes and acts of killing, I had to start writing them down, lest I forget.

Yep, always best to keep a record of what outrages you in case you don't remember to be outraged. Fool.

QuoteBut just because shameless whores and crack dealers of Hollywood deal this stuff out, doesn't mean you have to buy it and poison your kids' minds with it

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No."

Quotesilly voiced, silly costumed goons wandering around pretending this stuff is serious.

I think that was pretty much one of the points Alan Moore was trying to make, and that a lot of the characters realise in the graphic novel that that is all their role is as costumed crimefighters.

QuoteSo did your FACE.

No, no, no, it should be so HAS your face, given that the clause that prompted it is in the present perfect.
Ahem. (Pushes glasses up nose).

My brother's ex was an English teacher and found the abbreviation 'LOL' in a few essays. They'll be naming their kids 'k8' next.

QuoteBananaman totally lost his edge in the transition from page to screen.

True - I was a reader of Nutty, and would have expected a Scorscese-directed three-hour-long grim and gritty 18-cert masterpiece.  He wouldn't have missed out the bits where Eric Wimp is kicked around like a football at school on a daily basis, thus destroying his already-fragile childhood self-esteem.
