What if we'd got the derby ties I always hoped for? Alan Moore Derby day here as his 'other' strips face off to decide which is the favourite not Halo Jones Alan Moore series?
b]To Vote[/b] Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Friday 30th September and the winner gets a place ... well nowt this is just for fun.
What on Earth is ALL of this? (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48011.0)
Hold on I thought all this nonsense was over? Well yeah but... see well I've explained that (https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=48876.msg1091470#msg1091470)

Any questions, just ask as ever - and have FUN!
Skizz
Dr & Quinch
DR & Quinch.
Dr & Quinch
Skizz. But only the first series.
SBT
Skizz
D.R. & Quinch.
DR & Quinch
Skizz plz. It's close but I'm taking tears over chuckles.
D. R. & Quinch.
Now this is a proper hard one.
Skizz is a great story, emotional beats, wonderfully illustrated, and seems more SF that the two alien adolescents.
DR & Quinch is also well drawn, memorable, and has some great comedy beats.
With a lot of hesitation and teeth-sucking, I'm going to have to go for DR & Quinch.
Like, DR & Quinch.
Little surprised how quiet and how one sided this is so far. Still a day to go to change all that so get at it and I'll announce the result in the morning.
DR & Quinch. S'right.
VOTING CLOSED
Have to be honest was expecting this one to be a lot closer. Not so and it was clearly
DR & Quinch
by some margin.
Interesting! I wonder if it's because SkIIzz and SkIIIzz especially were not amazing, whereas all of DR & Quinch really was excellent.

That's my guess. Though there is much to love about both.

That was my rational, if it was just Skizz I would have voted differently
For me this vote was completely based on nostalgia, not having read either recently and possibly not since they were published.
So it's a mid fifties me remembering what a teenage me thought of them. And teenage me probably thought Skizz was a bit slow and lacking in action, whereas DR & Quinch was hilarious. Especially the T Shirt my brother had.
If I read them now, I may well have a different opinion.
I imagine so. Re-reading D.R. & Quinch in the UC was a bit... um. I mean, it wasn't another Robo-Hunter, but let's say it didn't chime with me like it did when I was a kid. (Skizz still mostly works, despite the OTT evil bloke. The second sequel is especially awful, mind.)
And I'm sure what we were laughing at back then would be considered completely un-PC now.
For example "Eat plutonium death, you disgusting alien weirdos" etc. Don't think they would get away with that these days.
I still love DR & Quinch. I voted for it over Skizz because it's more fun.
It's like 2000 AD vs. the Mona Lisa. Or Viz vs. Private Eye. Tiswas vs. Swap Shop.
