It's not about making money -i'd do it just to see what a complete book would look and read like. Assuming you could buy all the zenith comics for £40, obviously track down the special & annual story then pay a minimum of £60 binding, plus another £25 for the block for the front logo. As you can see the maths doesn't really add up unless you're a bookbinder yourself with a lot of progs.

General / Journal of Luke Kirby - What's it like?

Having already made a complete Zenith book I'm interested in further bookbinding projects. Is it worth tracking down all the Luke Kirby issues and assembling them into a book? Does it all tie together as one big story? Simply is it worth tracking it all down? I've always loved john ridgway's art, plus Steve Parkhouse. I rememeber reading summer magic and loving it. Is the rest as good?
Any other recommendations for further book creations (ones that will never be officially published) welcome.
Many thanks

If anyone's serious about binding zenith volumes it's best to get the best of 2000ads for the first 2 phases (issues 99 100 110 111 - i think). That way there'll be less pages of other strips creeping in.
I hope the new owner likes the book!

I'm selling because our work had a 20% pay cut last year and I've not been able to buy comics all year. This is to help fund my trip to the Bristol Comic Expo 2010!
Postage looks to be between £7 - £10 pounds depending on delivery. Check out the royal mail for an estimate using the 1.8 kg i weighed the book at. Obviously free to collect from central london or reading. Happy Bidding. Ireally like my Brendan mccarthy sketch but he did a lovely doom patrol one of Rebis for me so I've something to remember him by. Bloody lovely it is too!

Sorry for putting this in general first. Since this is created from the actual 2000ad pages i'm hoping it doesn't break any copyright rules. This was a one off and cost me a load of money acquiring the actual progs!

I admit i got a bit carried away. I always loved Zenith - for both the art and writing. Finding the bizarre interludes (not drawn by Steve) was amazing. I don't think they're in the Titan reprints. I rate Phase 4 - at the time I didn't realise how well it tied into the earlier Phases. God i hope the legal mess gets sorted out and this gem can be appreciated by everyone. Imagine a fat Zenith softback in the style of the Dredd Casefiles!
