I'll make you a fair offer on any 2000AD merchandise that would otherwise be heading binward.

{Sob story available on request.)

RODERICK, or RUADRI (d. 1198), king of Connaught and high king of Ireland, was the son of Turlough (Tordelbach) OConnor, king of Connaught, who had obtained the overkingship in 1151, but had lost it again in 1154 through the rise of Muirchertach OLochlainn in Ulster. Roderick succeeded to Connaught in 1156, and after ten years fighting won back the title of high king. His ill-advised persecution of Dermot (Diarmait MacMurchada), king of Leinster, furnished the pretext for the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland. Roderick endeavoured to expel the invaders, but was driven behind the Shannon. He delayed his submission to Henry IL until 1175, when a treaty was concluded at Windsor. Roderick, under this agreement, held Connaught as the vassal of England, and exercised lordship over all the native kings and chiefs of Ireland; in return he undertook to pay an annual tribute. The treaty did not put an end to the wars of the Norman adventurers against Connaught and Rodericks dependants. He held out till 1191; but then, weary of strife, retired to the cloister. He died in 1198, the last of the high kings of Ireland.

So, clearly, Slaine is a pile of shite.

I take it from the context that "troll" is some kind of uber-geeky term for an obstreperous poster which you use because you're so fucking "in" and "street" and in no way a "newbie".

Can't anyone just speak English anymore?  Christ, what a load of wank!

(How was that?)

I can't say I'm that bothered.

I reckon it would be difficult to maintain that kind of furore over things without it becoming forced.

Better to end on a high note rather than drag things out.  After all, look what happened to Rogue Trooper.

Would that be part 3 of the Space Trucker's Dictionary?

Perhaps Tharg is nervous that another Inferno or Wilderlands might accidentally slip through the quality net.

Longer story does not equal quality story, although I do prefer longer runs on Dredd (generally speaking).  Long sequences of one-offs fill me with ennui, as the quality is usually patchy.

One of the weird things about Dredd now is that we all know Wagner's tricks.  We know when a story is probably highly significant for the future.  "Fire & Ice" was obviously laying down some framework for the future, for example.

I'd like to see Dredd dive into a real epic story with no warning at all:  that would be a surprise.  Just as long as it's nothing like Inferno or Wilderlands.  10th planet?  Arse.  Statue of Judgement hitting the West Wall?  Arse.

SCB estimate: 68 pages
Total War: 72 pages

[Assuming the 13 episode run is correct, and 5 pages each for remaining installments of SCB].

Not that size matters.

Aye - the tele version is the uncut version - been available on DVD for years now.

It was always a very fast cut anyway - blink and you miss it.

You'd have thought that a headless animated corpse spewing blood into someone's mouth for several seconds was worse than a couple of frames of suggested penetration, but then I never was big on censorship.
