It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

The word was first used to mean "uncalled for, done without good reason" in the 1690s. It seems to have sprung up a few decades before that to describe a spontaneous "pleasant" act from the latin "gratuitus".

Oh sorry. Gone into etymology there.

some ideas knocking for the Strontium dog art comp actually turned into something quite nice...and manga.

SuperSurfer

Some great individual art styles going on here.

Really like your work johnnystress in particular the loose inking style.
Cool soldier, Archie.
Brilliant Dredd, Jon. Spot on grimace.
Michael – great X-force. Looks like a screen print.

cheers hawkmonger!

Mabs

That is really superb work, Mike. Love the green and yellow colour contrast; very eye catching - like the Brazil teams football kit!  :D

The look of Johnny Alpha is very stream line, close to what he'd probably look like in a film adaption. Great stuff!

its not like i'm looking for work in the next 2000ad film....or am I?

Woolly

Lovin that Alpha! Works surprisingly well in that style.

Seeing alot of Chris Weston in Jon's Dredd, which is utterly superb :) I also think its really well framed, makes it more of a mid-action shot than a pose.

Brilliant stuff chaps.

Dog Deever

Johnnystress- why aren't you in my fucking comic yet? Stop pissing around with beer and guitars...
Just a little rough and tumble, Judge man.

NeilFord

Cracking drawings Mike - love the style too.

HAPPY FREE COMIC BOOK DAY PEOPLE!

Allow me to introduce THE UNFINDING OF ERASMUS CIVITATUM. A writer friend and I have been producing this webcomic panel by panel for the past little while, the format is inspired by Warren Ellis' Scatterlands. However, it has always been in the back of our minds to compose in beats of 3 with an eye to how it would look as a full comix page. As today is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2013 we'd like to share the first 15 panels of The Unfinding with you on our facebook fan page, I mean the first five pages. Check us out... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.551867604863849.1073741831.532104233506853&type=1

Also you can follow the ongoing narrative at http://theunfinding.tumblr.com/ where the story is already further ahead.

Cheers,

GP
