...write a Dynamite title worth reading!

Big fan of the other Wagner's Zorro as it goes... of topic I know but worth mentioning.

Prog / Re: Prog 1661 - Download's Darkest Hour
06 November, 2009, 09:43:55 PM
Well happily I got my Prog too today. I'd had to avoid this thread up to then to stay spoiler free for the two big conclusions this week.

Funnily enough last when reviewing last weeks Prog someone said in reference to 'Strontium Dog' sometimes when a series is very good its hard to get an ending that matchs the quality. Well this week we had two ending that were completely wonderful and more than fitting to the quality of the fantastic series they rounded up. Both 'Kingdom' and 'Shakara' ending superbly.

I hope that isn't it for 'Shakara' but suspect it might be. There's one thing in there that gives me hope that there's more to come but if not the series has a satisfying conclusion.

Dredd continues well enough. I feel a little sorry for 'Sinister Dexter' as the continuing plot threads are being pushed along in short burst after short burst. I feel as though Tharg uses it as filler determining story size to fit the gaps he gets at the ends of runs and Abnett has to manipulate his story to suit. Utter speculation of course but I really wish 'Sinister Dexter' would get a good solid run to complete the current story. Mind having said all that still really enjoyed it.

'Necrophim' was fun but while I normally like Lee Carter's art but I felt it lacked the dynamitic edge to carry the combat in this issue. Shame cos overall I enjoying this story.

Great Prog with much of interest.

Its a kinda wonderful thing that people have so much time on their hands (says the man who has somehow managed to read 37 Progs in a week... not sure how...). Some of them are brillant.

While having a virtual back and forth with Alex Ronald (see thread in the General Section) it turns out there's going to be a sequel to Outpost that he worked on earlier in the year.

Always a little nervous with these things but it'll be interesting to see where they decide to take this story as there are clearly a number of avenues that could be explored.

Who are the creative team on the Captain Britain strip?

For those of you so inclined there's Comics Should be Good is running another of its top 100 polls. This time they're asking what the top 100 storylines ever are. If you fancy why not pop over and show 2000ad some love to try to remind the American comic buying public that there is a world outside their window (with apologise to the numerous fine folk from America who post here). Linkie to rules

Off the top of my head I'm going to vote for Nemesis Book 1, Zenith Phase 3, a Dredd epic (still debating which, Cursed Earth, The Pit...hmmmm) and possibly a few more... in fact I might try an entirely European vote just for the heck of it we'll see...

Anyway lists always fun.

I'm guessing you mean the overview of Mazeworld itself as seen by Adam from the back of a Dragonthingie. If so its amazing, if its another one dig that one out its...at the risk of repeating myself... amazing!

Arh that's cool. I really should be checking Barney before making rash statements like that! Looking forward to them.
