- The fact that there were only two hi ex rounds

Was that established in the comic somewhere?

In the Games Workshop RPG, the Hi-Ex round was an 'extra' piece that was placed on top of a standard shell before firing, so when you ran out of standard rounds, you couldn't use Hi-Ex either. Maybe this is the same?

Think rifle grenades.. Also, I figured the rounds would also be able to fired electrically, but at the expense of using up a small amount of their own charge to act as propellant.

Speaking of the gun, I noticed Dredd loading a clip into the grip/handle* rather than changing that chunky magazine at the front. I assume that's where the standard rounds are stored, and the chunky one is for the special things? (I'm not suggesting an error there by the way. I understand that's how the gun works - this is just an interesting thing that I noticed.)

We did have extra mags for those, and the gun had a functioning release mechanism for them, but it never made the final cut. And yes, that was the specialist round magazine.

There was another movie poster by the Owen Krysler one, featuring a woman with a bald head. Did anyone get a good look at it, or figure out the reference?

I noticed that, she had a big chest and was holding a machine gun, underneath it said 'She's bustin' out'.

Just a straight pun I thought.

In the early days of 2000AD Ian Gibson did a cut-away drawing of the Lawgiver Mk1 in which it was the Heatseeker that was an 'extra' piece (Three stored in the glove pouch) propelled by a GP shell. Though in the strip, Dredd merely selected 6 on the manual selector.

Michaelvk, was the ricochet round ever included in the brief for the Lawgiver? Also, was the large weapon carried by Judge Alvarez ever named? (It looked as if it could have been a 'Widomaker' from the comics)
Sorry if i'm turning this into an 'Ask Michaelvk'

No and no.. Alvarez' weapon was merely referred to as a big gun.. Was going to be belt fed at one point, but that got dropped.. My colleague Jason Human did that one.

Was there a Judge Death reference...I didn't see it?

James

I remember in the leaked script there was a Death tattoo on someone's neck in the scene where Kay is arrested, I looked out for it but didn't see it. Probably dropped.

Judge Griffin's name is on one of the video screens.

I thought I saw a block called Stallone Towers but then later on saw Atlantic Towers so I may be wrong on this.

I think the movie poster referencing the Judge Child was for a movie called Kryslers Mark. I think it also had a directors name on it and it may have been Sternhammer. Again I could be wrong on this as it wasn't visible for long. There was definitely a Sternhammer block.
Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.

I assume spoilers are ok here, given it's "just saw the movie"  ;)

Just remembered spotting that when the graphic came up for the different crime "options", Judge Hershey was noted as responding to one of them.
NEGOTIATION'S OVER!

Here's a little tidbit. The little character hanging from the rear view mirror of the van was a little Judge Death, albeit a stylized cartoonish one. Kerry von Lillienfeld, our props master, is a massive, massive 2000AD fan (he had 2 huge boxes full under his desk at all times), and he insisted on it..

Henry Flint's signature graffitied on a wall. A Sump afficianado in the crowd round the bodies at the beginning.

Joe Soap's avatar in full colour, nice.
I suppose this then inadvertedley gives a nod to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

There's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearence by Hershey - or at least her name - on a computer screen at the start of the movie.

I missed both but I'll definitely keep an eye out for that Hershey one.

I suppose he used that round as any other may have hit bone and ricocheted off towards the hostage.

I think he used it because it looked cool.

Lex and chums were a taster I think.
