Forum’s Fav Thrill - Missionary Man vs. Freaks (inc Faces) Rd 3 Heat 63

Freaks is good - but, being honest, it could have been a Future Shock. Missionary Man is a complicated beast - starting out more as legendary poetry, and hampered by a disjointed series of tales with wildly varying artistic quality and tone. I far preferred it when it went epic with The Promised Land - although that opening sequence by Quitely is (artistically) breathtaking.

Well this one started out as if it was going to be close and then one thrill simply pulled away and never looked back. Freaks has  a first class creative team in Milligan and Higgins but hasn't had the impact you might expect with that pedigree. And as such

Missionary Man

will be looking at the Promised Land of Round 4.
