Off Topic / Facebook hacking incident
26 May, 2015, 05:39:58 PM
My Facebook has had 2 hacking attempts today. Apparently From Indonesia.

Make sure you are safe on there. As far as I can tell they didn't actually get on.

Yup.

Artists Editions guys... I think these will be real purdy.

CBR got the exclusive on this... but they missed out some really key points in my opinion. Maybe they think EVERYONE knows what the Artist Edition means but not everyone does.

Anyway my full article is on my blog.

Film & TV / Poldark
26 April, 2015, 11:08:40 PM
I don't know if anyone was watching this... some may claim 'The Missus put it on'.

Friends of mine were in this, they supplied the horses, stunt riders, etc.

Here's an article about Ben Atkinson who was stunt double for Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark.

Events / Free Comic Book Day EVENTS
24 April, 2015, 06:46:25 PM
I'm writing an article about FCBD. It will have a 2000AD bias, what with my blog being called Judge-Tutor Semple.

So I'll be bigging up the Prog & the signings in London.

I'll also be bigging up the Southers gathering to coincide & the Belfast group as it is same day at the Belfast Comicy thing.

I won't be publishing the article till late tonight or possibly Saturday afternoon.

If you are aware of anything special happening in your area beyond the normal FCBD activities please let me know.  I'll be including a link to the 'Store Locator' so no need to let me know that your LCS is giving away comics, just if there is something really extra. So that's things like Signings or Get Togethers principally.

The more I include maybe the more folk will get in to those LCS and help boost the industry.

I heard about this site from a friend in Argentina. So far they only have a funding project for Daemonium. I've written a few things about Daemonium and I've already invisted in it financially.

So while fundraising here is done solely on trust given who recommended it to me I trust the site.

I don't share all my articles here as they aren't all relevant.

However I found it funny that a landmark such as the 500th article is about Jousting. A hobby I like watching and that Jason Kingsley likes doing.

Anyway if you want to know more - article is on mi blog

General / Interview with Carlos Ezquerra
22 February, 2015, 04:24:34 PM
Same deal as the John Wagner interview - this was published in Dogbreath issue 28 so nothing new here.

Interview is on the blog

Pick up the issue when you see it, it was out in March 20147 so most of you, most of you... will have read the issue even if you skipped the interviews.

General / Interview with John Wagner
21 February, 2015, 10:46:08 PM
This Interview was done between July & August 2013 so it doesn't mention more recent Strontium Dog events. It was published in Dogbreath issue 28 in March 2014. So if you've read it, nothing new here.

If you didn't buy it - go buy it!

15 February, 2015, 09:35:55 PM
I know we are all capable of publicising our own on here but just so everyone is aware...

If you run, attend or just know about a local meet-up of 2000AD and/or Judge Dredd fans let me know and I will include them in my next article about said meet-ups.

Pimping for the Belfast, London & Leeds ones is on my blog. Also in the relevant threads on here.

Books & Comics / Darth Vader Issue 1
13 February, 2015, 01:13:51 AM
This tiers in to the Star Wars storyline in Issues 1 & 2 of that title. So the same continuity nightmare of Luke/Vader exists. I think this issue at least shows more of why they did it - I can't say I agree with them though.

Full review in the usual place. Marvel, so no preview pages.

Other Reviews / Tales of Telguuth
09 February, 2015, 10:23:27 PM
Well there is a great, two page intro from Alan Moore. I liked that.

I'm sure several of you have said you wanted this book to be published over the past couple of years. It is well worth a read for those of you that weren't around at the time.

My review has some preview images with art from some bloke called Staples.

Dan Abnett & Colin MacNeil and the last part of the trilogy.

An intro from Dan sets up where this sits in continuity, a question often asked.

Books & Comics / A new Death Sentence approaches...
03 February, 2015, 10:41:15 PM
Montynero has a new season of death sentence on the way!

New artist Martin Simmonds joins the team. Mike will hopefully be back on later seasons sharing art duties with Martin.

As you can imagine Monty has been careful in selecting a 'replacement' for Mike. Martin's art looks great.
