It is a mutant! What was I thinking?!

Regarding the Dark Side of the Moon volume, I'm going by the first story actually presented in the volume which in that case is "Darkside". A few Luna-1 stories are in there, but there towards the end of the book.

if it helps my gn version of it published by rebellion uses tyranny wrecks as back cover which is bloody clever

Oh that's excellent! I'll definitely use that!

Thanks Greg! There are some wonderful storylines with the clone plot - can't wait until I get to cover "Oz" and "Necropolis" in particular.

New post up on the blog today, Volume 53 of the Mega Collection: "Brothers of the Blood".

https://thrillshots.wordpress.com/2019/01/07/brothers-of-the-blood/.

Also, a quick request for help! I'm using the subtitle on the back of each Volume as the title of each post, but my copy of "The Day the Law Died" printed the info for "Necropolis" instead! Can anyone who has the correct version let me know what they used for "Day"? Thanks!

(The back image for "America" is posted below so you can see which bit I mean).

Happy New Year's Eve, everyone!

I've picked the start of a new year to start a new writing project. 2000AD Thrillshots will review and explore a Volume from the Judge Dredd Mega Collection and the 2000AD Ultimate Collection, in order of the first story to appear in each Volume.

The Collections are great, and hopefully this project will provide a roughly chronological journey through a large amount of the Galaxy's Greatest Comic!

Check it out at http://thrillshots.wordpress.com, and check back every Monday for a new post.

Thanks!

Hi!

In Australia we're only a handful of weeks away from wrapping up the Judge Dredd Mega Collection. I wanted to ask wiser heads than mine - what JD collections should I look at to continue keeping up-to-date with the ongoing story?

I think that Volume 83: Blood of Emeralds has the most recent Dredd episodes of the Mega-Collection. Have any collections been published outside of the Mega Collection been released that collect storylines after Blood of Emeralds?

I saw a listing for "Cold Wars" coming out in March, but it didn't specify which episodes/storylines were being collected.

Hope this question makes sense! Thanks for any help.

Some cracking blogging here. I've long had a fondness for Alien Seeds, mostly because I find Ron Smith's depiction of the little hairy bitey fellas very endearing.

Hi Greg - thanks! Yes, I think the artists on these early strips loved being given crazy critters to tackle!

Sooo we're there I think. Your about to head off on a chase for Judge Child. Really be interesting to see how you get on with this one...

So, I'm reading and drafting a little ahead to make sure posts always come out on schedule... and I have some thoughts on the Judge Child! I think the Final Judgement post on this mega-epic is going to be mega as well...

there have been a few similar blogs that I dropped after a while, but although I'd forget to keep up if you didn't keep, posting the occasional bump, whenever you do I love to catch up - short but interesting. Liked the Judge Death ones - keep it up fella!

Thanks Dan - short but interesting was basically my entire plan with these!

Some big, big stories this week. It's actually almost impossible to list a favourite, so I'll just say that up on the blog now is Judge Minty (fantastic story), Alien Seeds (I always like Dredd in Space!), Judge Death (do I need to say anything about that?) and the first two parts of the Blood of Satanus (Dinosaurs!).

Where are the weeks going...?

In the week just gone, the blog has covered The Black Plague 4-parter and then three pretty light "holiday" episodes from back at the end of 1979.

I really, really enjoyed the Black Plague. A great example of a straightforward action-oriented adventure that really rolls along. And it has Henry Ford, the ornery horse.

Not to get too excited, but some big progs coming up in the week ahead...

Another week down! What I'm enjoying about this current run between mega-epics is the variation. Even in just a slice of 7 progs, you have absolute craziness (Palais de Boing, The Great Muldoon) and melodrama (Death of a Judge).

My favourite this week was Night of the Great Bloodbeast - a really self-contained great horror story.

Remind me - is Night of the Bloodbeast the one with the Klegg which was left behind?  Precursor to Sensitive...

That's the one!

Hello February! Another week of progs now up on the blog. A pretty strong mixture of insane (The Guinea Pig That Changed the Law, Sob Story) and old-school (Night of the Fog, Mob Blitzers).

Highlight for me this week though is Battle of the Black Atlantic. Nice to see the Sovs again, and Dredd arrests a ship! And flirts!
