Were these Brett Ewins Covers ever made made available as prints?

Howdy,

These are two of my favorite Anderson covers both by the late Brett Ewins.
Both were covers of Best of 2000AD Monthly and are pretty iconic, were they ever made available as prints or pull outs?

Not that I know of, the second one was a Star Scan/Poster on the back of a prog I think, the first was originally a regular cover.

Well I thought that too, but have just been looking on Barney and its not listed. Could have sworn it was though?

Edited to add: The Star Scan one that is, the cover is obviously there!

Off the top of my head,  I think the second one is the back cover for prog 451.

On the same subject, does anyone know anything about a B+W, head shot of Kano print , a bit bigger than A3, signed by Brett ?

I have one, looks like it was removed from a frame as its heavily trimmed....

There were a few prints of various characters made by Letterer and Colourist Tom Frame.

I'd guess it's one of those.

Steve - I never knew you had that!

Do you have a CAF page?
It's a joke. I was joking.

I don't have it - I just googled it and that was one of the images.

I've only got one piece of Henry Flint art and a couple of commissions.

I've got a huge print of that first image signed by Brett Ewins
I guess they were for sale in Forbidden Planet in the 80s
It's on tough card
I would say A2 ish

I think the drawing board , or 'card' as some still call it , in use by most comics artists at that time was called Bristol Board, you used to get it quite easily at art supply shops------much thicker, like you say, matty, for gliding the nibs accross --harder wearing as well, of course---it was relatively cheap, some artists still prefer this to digital drawing, of course.

I agree that his work around the mid-80s was at some sort of peak, with the story featuring  Anderson and JUDGE DEATH almost on par with the Bolland definitive.

Ashley Wood (he of the 3A stuff) owns that one.  (Plus a huge amount more, most of which remains hidden away.)
