Does anyone know the contents for 'Judge Dredd: The XXX Files', which I think is due to be released in June? Is it perhaps an American release like the recent Fatties and Mutant books?

Interesting item from IDW next week; http://www.midtowncomics.com/store/dp.asp?PRID=1320437

I've previously purchased Locke & Key Treasury Editions, and they're a thing of beauty.
Cant think of an artist who'd suit this format more than Mick McMahaon.

Some classic Dredd stories in there, and a decent price. I'll give this a shot.

Although it's not just McMahon in there; the FPI description indicates "Written by John Wagner and others, with art by Kevin O'Neill, Mike McMahon, Cliff Robinson, Ron Smith and Ian Gibson, with cover artwork by Cliff Robinson."

Somehow conspired to miss this. Anyway hats off to IDW for trying a Treasury Edition to get around the page size issues. I really hope this works for them!

All the better.
Quite a few classics will fit in those 72 pages.

Recrewt

Does anyone remember the Robocop Vs The Terminator mini-series that came out in the mid 90s?  It was only a 4-parter and each comic included a cardboard stand-up of Robocop, Terminator, ED-209.  90s me was all over this but it had never been reprinted........until now.

Now, I know some may not exactly see this as a classic - it's pretty basic with a lot of the characters and perhaps does get a little carried away towards the end but as I recall it worked pretty well.  Of all the Robocop/Terminator comics I have read, this is one of the best.

Yes, its a pretty darn good comic. I've often re-read this, and this post has reminded me that its due another airing.
Following that link, its not totally clear (or maybe im missing the obvious), but is that reprint an artists edition? ie; All original art?

Given that we've seen Rat Pack show up at The Works got to think some of the collections didn't sell too well and we'll not see much more.

£3.99! But yes, saw this today in my local branch. Had a good few of them in stock (at least ten copies).

Note to self; Pop in The Works more often.

Ooh hello. So that's where Stevie's pre-order through Diamond has gotten to.

It looks like Zenith Phase I, Phase II & Brass Sun hardcovers will be receiving simultaneous S&S editions.

No such luck for The Mek Files, but there this US only trade Durham Red: The Bitch due September.

Nice to see so much Wagner.

And Mike Carroll can now finally spill the (cool) beans about those Nick Percival pages he views on his iPad every night before going to sleep.

I can only really think of one problem with the idea of new stories featuring Orlok. Wagner/McNeil/Flint on Dredd demonstrates that editorial know who their A-team are; I suppose using all-new talent to resurrect eighties strips might alleviate the saudade; and the return of the themed Summer Special complements the year-end prog's revival of the old annual format (and price point?). Cheers, Link.

iPad? Pfff! I don't think so!

Thanks for the link! It's odd, though, how many people seem to be unable to spell my name... Surely neither "Michael" nor "Carroll" are that unusual?

For the record: "Michael" has the A before the E (it's AlphabEtical, you see!), and there are two Ls (and two Rs) in "Carroll"

The Simon & Schuster website says:
"Judge Dredd is famous for showing no emotion and upholding justice, but what happens when the citizens of Mega-City One want to cut loose, let their hair down and really lay down the law? In this brand new collection launching first in the US and Canada, Dredd discovers that the sin-seekers of the Big Meg are more inventive, funny and down sexier than he could have imagined."

Presumably that "down sexier" should read "downright sexier".

Interesting, Bleeding Cool says "Oh yes, and new Zenith art by Steve Yeowell for the first paperback collection", confirming we're not just getting individual Zenith Phase hardbacks from Rebellion but paperbacks as well.
